Uncharted gets censored for Japan
Those with Japanese PS3 systems found an unexpected surprise when booting up a US copy of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Most likely to meet Japanese ratings standards, the game will be censored when playing on a Japanese system. Most notably, there is a total absence of blood when shooting at enemies. Workarounds have been possible on other censored games, but so far none have worked for Uncharted.
Of course, the game wasn't too bloody to begin with. This is a strange, but ultimately not vital omission for those that have import systems.

Ummm... i bought my ps3 from a currys store in the UK and the screen also goes white as opposed to red when taking damage. It does not however have an absence of blood.

Way back in the 8 bit days it was the Japanese games that were being censored in the States. Final Fantasy's NA use of the term cleric instead of priest and the complete removal of religious icons from all of the games issued back then were a couple of examples.
Now it seems we have a bit of a censorship reversal going on here.

This video is false, the screen also goes white when playing it on a US/CAN PS3 (60GB, no less) and if I remember correctly from the demo there is not so much blood coming out of the guys when you shoot them (In fact I can't remember any from the demo)

It's not a censorship reversal, but a difference in values. Americans are much more open to violence, but mention anything related to religion or sex, and you get censored.
On the other hand, the Japanese are more cautious around violence, but don't really give a crap about religion and sex, at least as it pertains to censorship.
That's why games like Uncharted and Resident Evil 4 get censored in Japan, and why games like Doki Doki Majo Shinpan! will never leave Japan.

Well if they do have censorship, maybe it's understandable... considering Japan's been getting a string of "child-attacks-parent" incidents and more suicides. Several deaths of course leading to the unairing of some anime episodes.
