Japanese ad proclaims: Gran Turismo is a game!

We love this new ad from Japan, because we secretly hope our parents will react the same way. A Japanese family walks into an electronics store, and is amazed by the visual quality of Gran Turismo 5. The dad is startled to find out that he's not watching a TV program -- but a game. He stands, amazed in wonder of the awesome power that is the PS3. Honestly, wouldn't it be so cool if your folks had the same reaction?

a definite hit now bring it stateside with all the japanese. Most ppl will not understand except for those hardcore anime people and people will run out to get a ps3. better than baby crying!

Nice ad! I'm happy to see more commercials that:

1. Shows a PS3 game.
2. Shows the PS3!

Seriously, showing the customer the product and what it can do >>>>>> than not showing a thing about the product and expecting people to spend hundreds of dollars on it.

Now that Sony got rid of the advertising company responsible for that baby commercial, they need to go to Europe and restructure their ad companies there.

My Step Dad had pretty much that same reaction last night. I was showing off some of the features on the ol' PS3 and when I showed him GT HD Concept he was blown away!

My dad's been pretty amazed by my PS3. Not necessarily the graphics, since I don't have an HDTV, but some of the technology. Like the motion sensing in the controller, when I was playing Warhawk. He also thought that the technology behind Eye of Judgment was amazing.

Nice commercial. Gotta love those Japanese... lol

Lets get a game of Eye of Judgement in. Whats you PSN name? Mine is TheSh0wstopper. Just got it this weekend but im in love with it.

As for Gran Tourismo, I hope they advertise it well. It might even be able to sell more than 300k units. I know thats a bit of a stretch for a PS3 game but a guy can hope.

I dont' think so, I think it can very well pull it off!! Sony just needs to make sure it has a solid adverstising campaign for it and I think the game will speak for itself and sell!! Hopefully whoever in MARKETING is hired to handle this will do it some justice!! Here's hope'n

I've had a similar experience. One Sunday I was playing Madden 08 on my dads (family I should say, living room home theatre) TV and in walked my dad. He asked me what teams were playing, and I stared at him for a minute or two before telling him that I was playing a video game. He hasn't so much as looked at a video game since Goldeneye 64 (which he only played because I forced him) so he was pretty shocked to see that the graphics have become almost identical to really watching a football game on TV.

LOL..tell me about it? I was playing PRO (PES/Winning soccer...) 7 and my dad came in and HE REALLY thought it was a REAL match, I was sitting by the dinner table and i put the controller under the table so he can't see it and for about 3 mins, he thought it was a real game and then he said to me, "What's up with the TV, looks a bit weird to me?" then i said I'm playing PS3! He was just so shocked, i mean, he was scaring at the screen and then i showed him warhawk, he then asked to play, well my rank was top and then it went to -20000 points when my dad played it...LOL he only killed like 5 guys and got killed about 40 LOL!!
