Confirmed: no LittleBigPlanet demo this year

And with a simple headline, all happiness disappears from our faces. Color seems to melt away from our vision -- could it be true? LittleBigPlanet's demo is not coming out this year. Unsurprising, considering the relative silence around the game. However, didn't Papa Sony promise that we'd get our grubby hands on the game? (The question was rhethorical. The answer is yes. From a Sony press release: "A demo of LittleBigPlanet for PS3 is slated for the PLAYSTATION Network this fall. The full version will follow in early 2008.")

Beggars can't be choosers, so we probably can't complain about the release date of a free demo. Playable demo or not, we're still keeping LittleBigPlanet on our list of most-wanted games for 2008.

But did you see that last little bit where Stephen says: "And with that, the video game release calendar for 2007 is complete. No more delays. No more surprises. Right?" Tell me he isn't sitting on something exciting.

I never knew a demo was on its way so I'm not that bothered...however it doesn't bode well for Home Beta at the same time :(

Anyone surprised?

Whats the deal with music for user created levels?

Will there be a music creator? An importer(from your PS3 hard drive)? A generous list of songs to choose from?

I hope theres an importer because I already have a really great tune for the level I'll make.

Too bad, but I imagine making a demo would be pretty hard for a game that lets you create your own levels. Hard to pare down the feature list and avoid bugs.

Meh. I knew the demo wasn't coming. Curse you game bloggers and your ability to visit E3 and what not. I would have payed you 1 Canadian dollar to play this game for 5 mins.

I would imagine, with you and Nate, that it could be more challenging than your average demo-- however, they SAID it was SLATED. Which means, per my research, a pretty strong mostly yes/maybe.

The latest EGM rag showed it coming out in Fall 2008. I've never heard that before. I've always heard early '08. Somebody tell me EGM is full of sh!t (well, ya know, more than they usually are)!

Actually, the answer is NOT yes. Sony said it was SLATED to be out this year. That generally means it's on the list of to-do's, with no guarantee. At least that's what I always thought, but I will admit dictionary.com does say that slated can mean something is scheduled to appear, so that seems pretty yes... I always assumed we would never see any such thing, after the long silence.

On gameplay in the netherlands i spoke to a Playstation network chief he told me that the demo was a no go and also that the Full version will be not early 2008 but late 2008
just so you know when this happens you know i was right :P ( when i hope i am not)
