Devil May Cry 4 started life on PC, not PS3

Usually, this spells trouble in the multi-platform arena for the PS3, but it might actually work out best for both consoles, says Kobayashi. "It makes it very easy to move it put it on the 360 and use the power of that machine, or to put it on the PS3 and use the power of that machine, each in different ways. It's really pretty easy to do it, developing it from this PC base." With this in mind, it makes other multi-platform complaints about the PS3 being too difficult to program for seem silly.

Capcom just die already..
Popfrogs @ Dec 12th 2007 10:52AM
Let them release Bionic Commando, SF4 and RE5 first, then they can die.

Sam, you sold your PS3 for a 360?? Bad move, especially with 2008 around the corner. You should have just purchased a 360 and enjoyed both systems. Oh well, don't forget to bookmark 360fanboy. I believe they will appreciate your 360 comments a lot more. Your PC comments are welcomed here of course considering we all have one. :-)
Overall I enjoy the DMC series and look forward to 4. The people at 1UP have seen a recent build and state that the frame rate and stability looks a lot better on the PS3 so far than the 360. More evidence that the PS3 version isn't going to be a cheap 360 port.
Capcom may be sleaze, but they may start on the path to redemption starting with a great DMC4 version on the PS3.

B-b-but I thought that development on PC/360 versions of the game didn't start until they announced it was going multiplatform? Says the PR guy on Capcom-Unity...
What's ironic about this is that 1up and others are reporting that the 360 version doesn't look or play as well as the PS3 version. Aren't PC-to-360 games supposed to be near identical and really easy to port in general? And PC-to-PS3 is supposed to = pain in the neck?

Everyone quoting 1up comments on the game check to see what other sites have said? Seems both games run identical and at a smooth 60 fps. Shane B and the other editor (forget his name) are BOTH sony fanboys and will openly admit to it. I wouldn't use their judgement on any multiplatform game as a source. But I don't see the big deal with this news, all games are created on PCs anyway. Welcome to game development 101 people.

Using a PC Engine?
Wow. A 20 year old console pushing DMC4? Now that's some programming mastery if you ask me.
:P

aHAHAHA, ur an idiot that doesnt know anything, PC is found in an 360 and ps3. the difference is that ps3 and 360 use a RISC processor. heh PC has and will always be a step ahead of every console. The reason why u console fanboys think PC games "lag" is because they actually can be run upto 1600*20** resolution something u ps3 will choke and die while attempting.
BUTT, on that note, PC costs way more to upgrade and keep up with, and das why i say. Ps3 here i come you cheap, glorious slut!

PS3 exclusives are next-gen. Multiplatforms look almost next-gen.

@Sam,
Wow, if you haven't played your PS3 since you got it, you've really missed out on some fantastic games. Ah well, your loss I suppose.
gtrunner @ Dec 14th 2007 6:18PM

Emophia @ Dec 15th 2007 10:45AM
