Yet another fake PSP phone concept
People are seriously clamoring for a PSP phone. We've seen a number of fake designs in our time, however this is easily the sexiest so far. The sliding design of this concept drawing shows how a widescreen display can still be used in a compact form figure. Add an iPhone-esque sheen to it, and you have yourself one truly desirable gadget.
Too bad this isn't real -- but who knows? Maybe the kind folks at Ericsson are paying attention right now ...

As I've been saying all along, they just need to give the new PSP redesign phone capabilities. I would not buy a PS Phone if it was separate from the Portable brand. If the Phone and Portable brands do merge and the PSP-3/4/5000/and-so-on can do phone stuff as well as games and media and all that jazz, I will be all over that.

It is a shame that's not real, because it looks SWEEET!

that is a very desirable mock up. its planned out very well. only thing i would worry about would be how you could get the L and R front buttons on it. i think a touch screen analog stick would be a bit much too.

I'll stick with my tiny cellphone.

It looks silk , but I would rather want a mobile phone and a PSP ...

I am anticipating and hoping that Sony & Ericsson will be able to work on this project and get something materialized. Everytime I see someone with an iPhone, I just can't help but think how cool it'd be to be walking around in public and having someone say, "Ooh, that guy has a new PSP phone."
The concept in this article does look nice. Looks like they blended the iPhone screen with the 3 white touch sensitive dots of the SE K850. Looks real nice though.

PLEASE release this unlocked and (maybe) available at retail. Don't make it exclusive to a company like the iPhone (even though I was with AT&T) because I don't want to deal with a dang contract.
I have a Nokia N95. I love how Nokia is releasing their phone models unlocked straight from the factory site. If they do make this phone, I seriously hope they release it unlocked.

Yey, I got something published on PSPFanboy! lol
Have to say it does look sweet, there is another pic on the pocket lint site.
Yes there are a few design issues, but imagine if this launched right now - with the capabilities to stream stuff of a PS3 onto your phone at a Wifi hotspot (or via 3G??) with a bit of work on the handling of MP3 and Video to improve the usability of them to compete with the iPod, it would be a SERIOUS iPhone competitor, it probably would be the 'must have' tech toy.
Personally I don't think we'll see it for at least 12 months, they need to shrink down the PSP hardware a bit more first, the new slim is good, but it needs to be slimmer if its a phone as well.
Very good mockups though, whoever did them :D

And I also agree with Dehshizknight, SE should learn from Apple's mistake and sell it unlocked, available to all providers. There is nothing to stop them from doing a revenue sharing scheme with the different providers. At the end of the day, if it was priced the same as a PSP, it would sell anyway.
