Gran Turismo 5 Prologue speeds into Japanese storefronts

It would seem Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has made its launch in Japan and to the lauding of many a critic as an excellent game. Er, partial game. Well, we aren't entirely sure how to classify it, but it's launched in Japan. If you're really good at reading Japanese (or lines of question marks as this Firefox browser insists on showing), you can probably glean some more information from the listing, but as far as we can tell, it's totally a different language and we, like, can't read it.

There seem to be planned updates through the new year already. It is great to see such continued support for the game. Hopefully we'll get our hands on it soon enough and see how poorly we actually drive. According to simulation.

I can't even believe they didn't have an American copy ready for a dual release, talk about dropping the ball. Sony fans including myself are going to eat this game up. Especially after how dissapointed many GT fans were in Forza 2.

Can you PS3Fanboy peoples go hunt down someone from Sony or Digital Polyphony and ask them nicely (or not so nicely, if they won't tell you either)?

the one released last month was a DEMO for Prologue...don't get confused, there have been 2 demos, one was the demo of GT 4 HD, and then the demo of Prologue...now GT5 Prologue, which is a partial version of GT5...i think?

yeah this has 4 more tracks ( 9 more if you count reverse) and lots of new cars and of course 16 player online. The physics, sound, graphics, and AI are also more refined then they were in the demo

My copy is in the mail right now from japan.

I think GT5:Prologue is probably only 30 or 40% of what the full version of GT5 is going to be.

Andrew, that's an unconfirmed date.

Nevertheless that's probably what it's gonna be. I'm gonna import.

I really don't understand why they're holding out on this. It's the most anticipated game on the PS3, by far, and it's being kept tighter than a mormon teenage girl's private parts.
