Rumor: Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters gets ported to PS2
What's a system without exclusives? Sony is supposedly porting the former PSP exclusive Ratchet & Clank title, Size Matters to the PS2. This isn't the first time a major PSP game has jumped ship. Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories are some big examples of previous titles. However, should PSP owners get angry about this predicament? Not really. This game will be nearly a year old by its supposed February 2008 release, and PSP owners should be fixed on a much more important platform exclusive: God of War: Chains of Olympus. It's a trend that shouldn't be encouraged too much. Already, games like Silent Hill Origins are rumored to be heading to PS2 as well. PSP owners should be comforted by months of exclusivity and the ability to play these games on the go. Of course, maybe these companies wouldn't port these games to the PS2 if PSP owners actually bothered to, y'know, buy them.

Konami never gave the Silent Hill: Origins a ****ing chance to do well. So Andrew, you can't use that argument for them, what the hell were they expecting to be like Halo 3, oh wait I forgot you need to advertise on TV to get those sales.
The Ratchet and Clank title however, is a completely valid use of the that argument. Personally, I felt like I would have to play the other titles in the series to get this one. Might eventually pick it up, but don't you think that they'll have to change the name of the title.
Sony should pull the plug on the PS2, it would help them sell PSPs and PS3s. The lack of other avenues to get those titles will increase their sales. They should also stop allowing games to be ported from the PSP to the PS2, it would convince the fence sitters that they can't get the titles anywhere else.

The PS2 still sells too well for them to pull the plug. The PSP is doing fine on its own, but the PS3 is getting it's arse handed to it by the other 2.

Like GoW:CoO isn't going to eventually get ported to the PS2 anyway. Right. They're probably already working on it.

Don : Daxter wasnt ported , and CoO will probably not get ported neither .
SH:Origins , did resonably well , selling allready nearly 150k worldwide from what I know , but thats still far from enough for a SH game :?
R&C : SM allready passed the 500k worldwide , again but from that more than 200k are from EU numbers ... interesting .
Even though , I still think that with time exclusive PSP games could have sold more overall , rather than just make a fast port . Oh , and Twisted Metal Head On will get a PS2 port ...

i hope size matters gets some extra content because it probably won't get multiplayer support, im hoping for some compatability with previous ratchet ps2 game saves, and connectivity to the psp version, though its all probably unlikely

The part I find disgusting is while R&C: Size Matters is still $40 for PSP after nearly a year, the PS2 version is listed as $29.99 at Gamestop.

I don't see why porting from the PSP to the PS2 is something to get angry about. It's still a PlayStation platform...
Also, saying that porting from the PSP to the PS2 is loosing exclusivity would be like saying that Gears of War or something like that isn't exclusive because it's also available on the PC.

Logan's Shadow should be coming to the PS2 soon. There where some files in the PSP version that referenced to the PS2.
