Firmware 3.80 now available via Network Update

- [Internet Radio] has been added as a feature under [Network].
- The importing of channels in OPML format is now supported under [RSS Channel].
- Photos can now be displayed under [RSS Channel].
- New effects have been added to the visual player under [Music]. Only one new visualizer has been added. It acts like a slow Etch-a-Sketch.
Note: To install an internet radio system to your system, you must follow instructions included in the new firmware. To access, click here. There are two internet radio systems available, each with its own stations. There are a huge variety of stations available, covering a number of genres (J-Pop and K-Pop included!). We hope to have a video hands-on tomorrow.

Can't wait! LOL
Dustin @ Dec 17th 2007 11:53PM
I like so far. I didn't have my PSP plugged in to an outlet when I installed the update. opps. its worked, but just a side note, when adding a radio player, have patience. its very slow right now. my system froze for a minute after I pressed the accept buttom and took a little while to install. And i guess its just a website, not an actual apps. the radio is very slow.
Andy @ Dec 17th 2007 11:53PM
So PS3 got DIVX and PSP got internet radio. Pretty good day, if I do say so myself.
Dustin @ Dec 18th 2007 12:03AM
Why are some of the stations... not... english? I mean I clicked the 90s, 2000s, and Top 40 and the songs were in other languages... Ok, the Top 40 has a commercial on, and they guy is speaking German. WTF.
AL7AIR @ Dec 18th 2007 6:25AM
It says "Internet Radio" not "Stations that are inside the borders of my country Radio" ;)
Grant @ Dec 18th 2007 8:01PM
yeah, most of the stations i have been getting have been french and a bunch of others from the EU.
I don't think i have gotten a single US station outside of the "80s" stations.
John the Snake Man @ Dec 18th 2007 12:07AM
OPML?
German @ Dec 18th 2007 12:13AM
Bricked....
well mine worked fine
the radio is intersting...
Ken Adams @ Dec 18th 2007 2:19AM
I'm noticing SIGNIFICANT increases in files access speeds. It used to take about 15 seconds to open up the Video folder on the XMB on my 2 and 4gb sticks, but now it's more like 5-7 seconds. Also noticing that they're re-arranged a little.
Can anyone confirm?
randomflashbang @ Dec 18th 2007 2:25AM
The internet radio is neat to mess around with, but it's hard to really explore effectively. Has anyone found a good goth or darkwave section?
JEROEN @ Dec 18th 2007 3:30AM
Woah the metal station!!
This new feature sure rocks :P
Gaffman @ Dec 18th 2007 4:19AM
as randomflashbang said, the radio is fairly well implemented but hard to find anything specific. You have to pick a genre, then manually skip through stations without really knowing whats coming up. Its a bummer because i was hoping to be able to search for specific stations, say if a friend had a shoutcast station setup you could tune in on psp wherever you were. The current setup seems to be based on popularity with no regard for language or anything else.
Alien @ Dec 18th 2007 8:03AM
Solid update ... keep it comming Sony :D
bigboy88 @ Dec 18th 2007 8:07AM
i hav 3.80 on my psp now but how do i add channels? i cant use WLAN on my psp cos i dont hav a net connection and im grounded
Cameron @ Dec 18th 2007 9:14AM
Does this work for the PSP fat? I didn't upgrade to slim....
Martin @ Dec 18th 2007 9:20AM
The update should work regardless of which version of the hardware you are using. There may eventually be updates that are Slim only, such as those that would take advantage of hardware not present in the original system, but so far I don't know of any.
Kspraydad @ Dec 18th 2007 9:32AM
Yes...it works on original.
I thought it was awesome...I usually listen to podcasts at night but I got to tune in to some freak US talk show host that I wouldn't normally get off the airwaves in Canada (Alex Jones).
BTW...why is there no 'sports' button? Is that uncommon on internet radio?
thisguyrighthere @ Dec 18th 2007 3:24PM
Oh, kick ass! You can listen to GCN now?!?!
I've been trying to get my PSP to recognize the Alex Jones RSS podcast since I got the damn thing out of the package. Hell, RSS and casts were the big feature that got me to purchase the thing then I can't get it to recognize any of the streams I want to listen to.
Can't wait to get home. I should've brought it to work.
Therealmat @ Dec 18th 2007 10:12AM
There are no "rock" or "classic rock" buttons on either of the radios?!
Still pretty cool though.
NukeAssault @ Dec 18th 2007 1:25PM
I know! I was super pissed...
Atleast theres Techno. =D
Senor Spider @ Dec 18th 2007 10:16AM
Ugh.
I rather have kept my original firmware. I got bored and went custom. I guess there's no way on going back to original? :(
This looks awesome!

I cant get my radio to work :( Can any1 help me plz? (Plz bear with me Im a noob)
Harken567 @ Dec 18th 2007 10:36AM
What is OPML for? Is that for the video podcasts that don't work?
Kspraydad @ Dec 18th 2007 10:43AM
Not sure if the PSP update had anything to do with it of if it was the update for the PS3 that changed things...
You can now play your PS1 discs remotely on your PSP...I'm playing MGS right now!
roseuz @ Dec 19th 2007 1:18AM
YEAH!!!! Video Podcasts from ABC NEWS now works!!!

Jared D'Souza @ Dec 20th 2007 5:39AM
Found a nifty new feature on the new PSP firmware i.e. 3.80. While watching a video, press the square button and enter the scene search menu. Now hover the selection box over one of the chapters shown. A tiny clip of the scene plays instead of the static screen-shot of the movie. This was not present in earlier firmwares.More firmware goodness :P
rex4645 @ Dec 20th 2007 9:12PM
IT BRICKED MY PSP!! WTF!!
bryansurvive @ Dec 25th 2007 6:29PM
so the channels are set huh?
is their anyway to take advantage of the winamp feature. you can use it towards a ps3 but not that we have the radio could we tune it to a page and load from the radio??i have no idea what im talking about now.
James @ Dec 26th 2007 10:46PM
Two questions:
Does OPML support mean that I can "sync" my PSP with my Google Reader account?
And does anybody have a tutorial to add the required files to my CFW 3.72 PSP?
bryansurvive @ Dec 27th 2007 5:56AM
i found this for winamp to your psp.
