There might not be any games released this week, but that doesn't mean you should save your money. Ha! There's still two new Blu-ray movies this week that you can spend your hard-earned cash on.One of these movies is clearly much better than the other. We'll let you intelligently figure it out.

yes! finally, Pan's Labyrinth on blu-ray. Ive been waiting for this movie for half a year
Kattleox @ Dec 24th 2007 1:25PM
I had never watched Pans Labrynth, but the critical acclaim and the way that it looks like American McGees Alice in film form surely piques my intrests.
GamerGuyX @ Dec 24th 2007 1:29PM
I like how this website tries to tell people what to think. Rush Hour 3 was great IMO.
Joe @ Dec 24th 2007 1:30PM
I guess the better movie has to be Rush Hour 3.
That is just a joke I liked RH2 over the third. So I will pass on that but Del Toro's movie of Pan's was a masterpiece. So that should look really awesome in HD.
Hashbrown_Hunter @ Dec 24th 2007 5:31PM
Well RH1 was the best but RH2 was a lot of fun.
Josh Hughes @ Dec 24th 2007 1:51PM
Awww man!!!! I just loaded PS3 Fanboy and saw a Blu-Ray cover for Pan's Labyrinth and about geek-gasmed on the spot LOL! It is my favorite movie! Now....all we need is Boondock Saints and Equilibrium on Blu-Ray and I am set LOL!
Davsot @ Dec 24th 2007 5:52PM
Doesn't linking to websites like that get u kikd out?
Consolcwby @ Dec 24th 2007 7:25PM
Well, if I was under the age of 16, Rush Hour 3 would be my choice. Since I am a very old and ancient person, I have to go with Pan's Labyrinth. Although with Blu-Ray, you can't go very wrong... That's why I picked up Blade Runner, The Road Warrior, and Full Metal Jacket. =) Nothing wrong with liking action flicks (although, Pan has a MUCH better ending than RH3!) =D
motorer @ Dec 24th 2007 7:52PM
my blade runner collection will be here on the 26th! woot!
pan's labyrinth was a great movie too.
rockstar @ Dec 24th 2007 7:54PM
Has Pan Labyrinth now been english dubbed?
GamerGuyX @ Dec 24th 2007 8:53PM
Yeah right. High-def releases always contain the original language track.
eclipse27 @ Dec 24th 2007 9:46PM
Andrew, how about you and the rest of the crew keep your opinons to yourself, and just report the facts...thanks....this is PS3Fanboy.....not Ebert and Roeper
The_Doctor @ Dec 25th 2007 12:04AM
If you don't like it go to amazon or some other site. This is a blog, and each article is published by someone who may or may not like what they're writing about and they're allowed to say what they want. I don't see people complaining when opinions are expressed in games reviews.
JKPierce @ Dec 24th 2007 11:01PM
Something tells me I'm alone in my distaste for Pan's Labrynth.
DirtnSky @ Dec 25th 2007 12:43AM
Ah yes.. Rush Hour 3. The very Second movie I and my father walked out of. Gush all you want for that turd, but by decency; I had to put in a word to all who have not seen it. If you're curious about it, I Strongly suggest you rent it first before purchase. Rather 3 dollars wasted then nay near 27+ buck! .................................. fair warning.
sicklesdawg @ Dec 25th 2007 12:59AM
Damn...I just watched Pans Labrynth on a has been DVD this sunday. x(
B1gC72 @ Dec 25th 2007 1:37AM
im not a fan of the Rush Hour series. Chris Tucker is so damn annoying although Jackie Chan's stunts are always cool. i did watch Pan's Labyrinth and i can confidently say that that was a very odd movie. it did have a fantastic story but some of the imagery was just so odd. that satyr gave me the creeps on a bootleg version, i can only imagine what a high def version would do to me lol
zonk3r @ Dec 25th 2007 2:11AM
I'm confused. I thought this was a gaming site not a movie site. I haven't seen release stuff for HD-DVD on xboxfanboy.com...
Noshino @ Dec 25th 2007 5:19AM
http://xbox.joystiq.com/category/hd-dvd-releases/
your point?
the PS3 is a Blu-ray player, so what's the problem with letting us know every week what titles are out?....If you don't want to know about them, then go ahead, and just NOT READ the article...
and this isn't a GAMING site, this is a PS3 site, learn to read before you state non factual things....
think before saying something, it might come back to bite you in the ass and make yourself look stupid... :]
AK @ Dec 25th 2007 7:55AM
that's because blu ray playability is one of the ps3's instant features.
since you have to buy the hd-dvd drive seperate for the 360, barely anyone will give a shit about what movies are coming out.
us on the other hand, all have ps3's with blu ray... so plenty of us like knowing what else we can do on our ps3's...
ymmv @ Dec 25th 2007 6:10PM
If you haven't seen HD-DVD releases, you really haven't looked that hard since they also do weekly roundups of new HD movie releases. I think one item a week isn't such a bad idea. Plus every PS3 owner can play Blu-Ray movies. Same can't be said about the 360 since Xbox owners have to spend $120-150 for an external box.
eclipse27 @ Dec 25th 2007 2:46AM
my point exactly....i come to this site for PS3 info.....not movie reviews
Noshino @ Dec 25th 2007 5:17AM
once again, this IS PS3 info...
games for PS3...
applications for PS3...
peripherals for PS3...
movies for PS3...
please, tell me if Im wrong...
and also, could you tell me where is it mentioned that this site is exclusively about games...
The_Doctor @ Dec 25th 2007 6:56AM
agreed Noshimo... I don't know why people are getting so worked up over this. If you don't like it, no-one is forcing you to read it, get off the net. This site is about anything and everything PS3 related... and whether you like it or not that includes blu-ray titles.
George @ Dec 25th 2007 3:19AM
Yeah, I think you are right. I am a little surprised, too! This site is indeed a gaming site not a movie site. Maybe it is because there might not be any games released this week. But I think putting these two new Blu-ray movies here seems not a bad choice. Because these two are good movies. To me, I like the first one -- Rush Hour 3: http://dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?deal_id=74509 better. I think Rush hour 2 was a little slow. For what it is, it does a good job, Chris tucker is funny, and Jacky alway swow's us with his stunts. Moreover, It has more of the fun action packed adventure and humor than both prequels. So I guess if you want to see a movie you will enjoy it should definitely be this one.
Terrence @ Dec 25th 2007 5:45AM
As was said in post 20, this site is covering the best interests of PS3 owners. Someone earlier mentioned that xboxfanboy doesn't cover HD-DVD releases, but it's not like the 360 has an HD-DVD drive built in, and its unlikely that the majority of 360 owners who are drooling over Halo 3 are even going to care about spending $179 on an attachment to watch HD movies on their Xbox.
Maybe you don't care, or maybe you just prefer dedicated websites, but don't down PS3fanboy for covering Blu-ray. It's a legit feature of the PS3, and I enjoy having a site that covers everything PS.
As far as the opinions go, that's what they are; opinions. Andrew never said which one he thought was better (although I assume he was referring to Pan's), but what's that to stop you from buying either or both or neither? I liked both.
Bigdog @ Dec 25th 2007 9:13AM
The war between bluray and HD-DVD. While PS3 fully supports this format, I don't see a problem at all with this being part of the PS3. I don't get some of you people, This post that andrew made did NOT take away any spot for games or anything. Why must some of you complain about this?
There are other posts in here such as Resistance 2 and other things. blueray is part of the PS3...get over it. Pan's Labyrinth is a fantastic movie. I think the reason why people shy away from this is because they have to READ to understand it. Kind of a lame excuse, I think the reason why people shy away from this movie is because they have to read. If thats the case....Don't people read books anymore? sheesh
xvertigenx @ Dec 25th 2007 11:15AM
Ummm, x360fanboy does HD-DVD release schedule every week as well. Are you blind?
http://xbox.joystiq.com/category/hd-dvd-releases/
Also video marketplace?
http://xbox.joystiq.com/category/video-marketplace-1/
What do either have to do with gaming? Nothing. It is what these systems are *also* capable of playing. So stop your bitching, bitches.
mccomber @ Dec 26th 2007 3:51AM
I think you're all missing the point; complaining about everything is now an integral part of gaming, so the comments here doing just that are trying to keep up the quota of bitching.
Oh yeah, and Pan's on BluRay FTW, I've already got my copy thanks to Santa.
