There's no American PSN update for today, unfortunately, so we'll have to rely on Sony Europe to deliver some nice Christmas goodies for us; which they have. Not a lot, by any means, but we certainly used to dream of the days when we'd get three demos a week. Here's the full release list:
- Super Stardust HD demo "and upgrade" (free)
- The Club demo (free)
- Snakeball demo (free) - now on the UK store
Like we said, there's not a lot but it's better than nothing, right? We're very glad to finally see a demo for
Super Stardust HD - now people can try the game out before they buy it. If you already have the game installed, then it will simply upgrade your version to the new rumble enabled, custom-soundtrack touting
version.
The
Snakeball demo was missing from the UK store (as well as other EU stores) last week but has now made an appearance. The full game is available via the in-game store, so you could technically count it as a full game release. Not a bad week when you consider that everyone's off for Christmas!

I hope The Club demo comes to the US next week. I'm really curious about that game.

Damnit, I really want to know if stardust is like geometry wars.
I want to try before I buy. I'm to afraid to spend money on something like that!

Pretty poor update if you ask me!!!! I would have thought sony would have been doing a big release so that kids could spend thier xmas money on the store!!!! Mind you, they could spend it on older PSN games and then Sony will come along next month with the decent ones....ahhh - I see!!!!!
Well, anyway...Im still waiting for the Club to finish downloading! Iv written two and a half novels waiting for the beast!
Bring on Wip3out HD!

Anyone confirm if the super stardust upgrade works on US versions?
thatdidnthurt @ Dec 27th 2007 4:14PM
I bought Super Stardust when it came out and I am wondering if anyone knows if it will upgrade the US version when downloading the EU one. I am gonna download The Club under my UK gamertag and check it out but it sure would be nice if my Dualshock 3 would work with Stardust finally.

When this comes to the US, I will be PISSED if it somehow downgrades my full SSDHD to a demo version...

Hm, I upgraded my SSHD version earlier last week. It wasn't officially available back then, but ps3fanboy had this news that it was on the servers already anyway.
Here is what I did: I didn't uninstall or delete anything, but just went to the Playstation Store, clicked on my list of previous downloads and redownloaded SSHD which incidentally turned out to be this new version. Just install that and your game is properly updated. I don't know if this works on the US servers as well, but it doesn't hurt to try, there is nothing to go wrong there.

I take it you are in Europe? I downloaded it under my U.K. account and it just gives me the demo - it doesn't upgrade my U.S. version at all. I would really like to have custom soundtracks in Stardust! WTF Sony?
KillerAJD @ Dec 27th 2007 11:22PM
Yea, it doesn't upgrade NA users SSHD. Pretty cool messing with the custom soundtracks in the demo though. The Club is ok, a bit weird, but looks like it could be fun.
espoac @ Dec 28th 2007 10:53AM
Wow, the Club is surprisingly fun. Nice update Sony.
