Blu-ray movie releases for the week of Dec. 30
Although last week's Blu-ray releases were pretty much all about Pan's Labyrinth, there are actually several titles Blu-ray owners could be interested in this week.Of course, most gamers will probably be most interested in the Resident Evil trilogy, we hear Shoot 'Em Up is a fun action flick, and we can never say no to Monica Bellucci.

Why take an amazing set of games with good storylines and butcher them to be supbar action/horror movies.
It's almost enough to make me want to go kill STARSsssss.

Why waste money on the horrible Resident Evil movie trilogy when you can just purchase a trilogy of good zombie movies (Romero's Dead series).
maskedrose @ Dec 30th 2007 4:40PM
Worst movie series ever.
Dehshizknight @ Dec 30th 2007 4:48PM
Haven't seen these but I thought people said the Resident Evil series was pretty good. I guess I should be glad that I didn't go to watch them.

I bought a Resident Evil Blu-ray in a Danish EBGames (there was only 3 different movies :D that has changed) in March, just to watch it.
It was horrible, and encoded in MPEG-2 :P
But does Resident Evil: Extinction include the new Blu-ray Profile 1.1 software?
Galley @ Dec 30th 2007 7:13PM
Yes, it does.

Shoot Em Up was a fun movie (with Motorhead!) but none of those are really worth owning.

Resident Evil Is the only Video game movie that was actually good. Now resident evil dosent follow the video games story, but tell me any other video game that turned into a movie that actually had good acting and good story.

Shoot 'em up is a really fun picture. If you like over the top action movies like Crank, you'll love this. (And if you didn't like Crank, there's still a good chance you'll love this).

those Resident Evil movies are some of the worst movies i have ever seen.

wow, lots of flack on the RE series here. i personally think they're great. i've never been into the resident evil games, but i did play RE4, one of my favorite games ever. i guess i don't really know a whole lot about the grand scheme of the plot for the games so the accuracy of the movies doesn't bother me a bit.
+1 for milla jovovich

just buy them and support the blu ray cause hahahaha. i think angelina jolie would have been perfect for this part.
James @ Dec 31st 2007 1:20PM
Soooo... I only saw the first RE movie, and it was way, way back when it first came out, but they're universally panned by all the game blogs I read. I don't remember hating RE1, so I'm wondering if there's some big disconnect, and I should see the other two, or if they're right and my memory is wrong (quite possible). What, specifically, made them so bad?
JTM @ Dec 31st 2007 11:41PM
I've seen all but the most recent one and I thought they were great. I really don't see what people dislike about these movies. I guess it doesn't hurt that I'm a huge fan of the games.
Also, Milla is hot

Every one of those movies is complete trash. It's not even trash you can admit to being entertained by.
