Thanks Sony! That's another evening we've wasted checking the PSN Store for updates. Why so
late? Nevermind, we'll forgive you because you've given us a nice selection of content to choose from this week - if we own
Guitar Hero III, Rock Band or
Need for Speed: ProStreet, that is. Detailed information regarding the game add-ons can be found after the break. Here's the full list:
- Guitar Hero III downloadable songs ($2.49 each)
- Guitar Hero III "Warner/Reprise" song pack ($6.25)
- Rock Band downloadable songs
- Need for Speed: ProStreet vehicles
- NFL Tour '09 network demo (free)
- GT5 Japanese launch trailer (free)
Not as amazing as we were expecting, considering we had a Thursday without updates last week. No doubt some week long hangovers are responsible. We'll forgive you for this week, but we're hoping next week is much better. As for
Guitar Hero III DLC being more than twice as expensive as some
Rock Band songs - that's just laughable.
- Guitar Hero III downloadable songs ($2.49 each)
- Die Fantastischen Vier's "Ernten Was Wir Saen"
- Trust's "Antisocial"
- Extremoduro's "So Payaso"
- Guitar Hero III "Warner/Reprise" song pack ($6.25)
- Linkin Park's "No More Sorrow"
- Mastodon's "Sleeping Giant"
- The Used's "Pretty Handsome Awkward"
- Rock Band downloadable songs
- 30 Seconds To Mars' "Attack" ($0.99)
- 30 Seconds To Mars' "The Kill" ($0.99)
- All American Rejects' "Dirty Little Secret" ($0.99)
- All American Rejects' "Move Along" ($0.99)
- The Sounds' "Song With A Mission" ($0.99)
- Rush's "Limelight" ($1.99)
- The Black Crowes' "Hard To Handle" ($1.99)
- Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Gimme Three Steps" ($1.99)
- Need for Speed: ProStreet vehicles
- Shelby GT500 ($1.99)
- Chevrolet Corvette Z06 ($2.49)
- Lancer Evolution ($2.49)
- BMW M3 E92 ($2.49)

There seems to also be a demo for Gran Turismo on the North American store. HD Concept v1.2. I haven't downlaoded it but the track name is the same as the one from the Japanese demo, I think, but the cars are different I believe.
Autopsy15 @ Jan 3rd 2008 11:03PM
That demo is extremely old. It's an HD version of GT4. The only GT5 demo out is in the Japanese store.
HAAS599 @ Jan 4th 2008 9:15AM
thats not almost a year old or anything
Tim Parsons @ Jan 3rd 2008 6:40PM
meh totally useless nothing of interest in this update for me at all,.
Anyone know if it was ever said if there would or wouldnt be a DMC4 Demo??
Autopsy15 @ Jan 3rd 2008 11:04PM
WTF. Stupid reply system. That comment was meant for Kinketsu.
Tim Parsons @ Jan 3rd 2008 6:43PM
That's not new,. that's been there since the spring,. they just shifted it into veiw. They shifted alot of stuff today
Kinketsu @ Jan 3rd 2008 6:45PM
Oh wait, the GT thing came out earlier last year didn't it? It said 1.2 then too...so...it's not news.
stuckouteast @ Jan 3rd 2008 6:52PM
These high-cost, low-interest (as in, boring) GHIII downloadables are killing my buzz and making me look longingly towards a potential Rock Band purchase...
Solace @ Jan 3rd 2008 7:15PM
get Rock Band - you won't be disappointed.
i waggle my finger at Activision charging 3 times the amount for their GH3 tracks when RB songs can be played more ways AND are cheaper...
crazypenguin @ Jan 3rd 2008 6:58PM
if you look on the site, they say that the car downloadables can be won through career mode....or you can buy each car for two bucks each......what kind of a lazy idiot would do that? even if they have the cash to throw around!!!!!
derickoleary @ Jan 3rd 2008 7:20PM
With no release date or price point named for Australians... Im thinking about biting the bullet and paying through my *** to importing one and getting one of those prepaid visa's so I can get the dlc for it.
Seriously... no release date set and no price point... are EA retarded? Closest thing I can see for a date is 5th of March...
santino @ Jan 3rd 2008 7:14PM
im so glad the GT HD demo is back online, it was one of the reasons i was so excited to pick up a ps3 over the holidays, only to find out it was taken down.
im downloading it as i type.
Paul @ Jan 3rd 2008 7:24PM
I can't believe how horribly lame the GHIII downloadable tracks are. The in game set list is great, the bonus tracks sucked (with a few exceptions, namely the Stone Roses and Kaiser Chiefs) and now they are continuing the trend with lame music.
kentuckyfried @ Jan 3rd 2008 7:54PM
WEAKSAUCE. =(
matthew_neitzer @ Jan 3rd 2008 7:47PM
Lynyrd Skynayrd is spelled incorrectly. :)
Thomas @ Jan 4th 2008 12:03AM
Lynyrd Skynyrd is spelled correctly, there is no A.
matthew_neitzer @ Jan 4th 2008 3:21AM
They fixed it, I spelled it how they did originally.
emaxximus @ Jan 3rd 2008 8:09PM
When will the US store get the Stardust upgrade? Anybody remeber the good old days when you looked foward to the Thursday store update?EA can take their NFS dlc and shove it.
Tim Parsons @ Jan 4th 2008 6:23AM
in the good old days it actually came midnight Wednesday night thursday morning LOL,. I dunno whats worst waiting up in the morning for a Demo to complete just to try it out or waiting all damn day for Crap!
Oh well we can't expect awesome stuff all the time can we lol
Andy @ Jan 3rd 2008 8:37PM
$0.99 tracks for Rock Band!?! And All-American Rejects? I love them.
$2.49 tracks for GH3? Some (probably) crappy songs I've never heard of?
Another reason to love Rock Band and hate GH3. Screw you Activision, screw you.
Elsnerma @ Jan 3rd 2008 10:28PM
I can't agree more with what everyone else here has already said:
Rockband's DLC has been awesome, while GH3's has sucked horribly, both in content and price.
If I had enough money to get Rockband, I definitely would.
Andy @ Jan 3rd 2008 9:54PM
@14
Umm hello. Who are you?
This world isn't big enough for two Andy's
Andy @ Jan 3rd 2008 10:08PM
no make that 3 Andy's
Tim Parsons @ Jan 3rd 2008 11:25PM
Just out of curiousity but ,. do rockband and or GHIII let you update in game? or do all these updates/add-ons have to be done via the PS Store,.
Me personally I think all Add-on content should be kept off the PS Store and within the Games themselves,. you should be able to veiw/get it from within the Game and not have to go looking for it on the store.
Popfrogs @ Jan 4th 2008 10:14AM
Like Warhawk? Yeah it is a good idea.
Kinketsu @ Jan 4th 2008 12:26AM
Yeah sorry Autopsy, I realised my mistake just after I posted it. All in all, it hasn't been a great update week for the PSN though.
Wonderflex @ Jan 4th 2008 11:00AM
Is there now a patch for Rock Band or is that picture just a tease? I've been out of the loop durring the holidays.
PSP Daddy @ Jan 4th 2008 3:21PM
In case anyone from Activision is reading: I will add to the chorus of boos for the "what the heck are THOSE songs?" DL content, as well as the comparatively rotten pricing structure. When I bought the game for $90, I got 70 songs, the game itself, and a guitar. Even if all I got were the songs, that's about $1.28/song. Now they want me to pay a higher per song price, for music I've never heard of? Really? So very disappointing. I'm loving GHIII, but I think once I get through it I see myself migrating toward Rock Band and staying there, even if all I ever do with it is play solo.
Activision is really botching what should be a golden opportunity for them.
Josh @ Jan 4th 2008 3:46PM
Hey PS3Fanboy...ya kinda forgot the NFL Tour 09 demo and GT5 Prologue Japanese Trailer that also went up today....
...keep up!
