Tomb Raider dev admits PSN more 'flexible' than XBLM

Unlike XBLM, there are no restrictions on games delivered on the PSN. This allows game designers to be as creative and ambitious as they want. "We made an in-road with Anniversary on 360, and it was a full game essentially, but Microsoft is only slowly increasing requirements and opening up the constraints of Xbox Live. It's been a slow process, whereas PSN hasn't been restricted by size, they've just done Warhawk for example."
These comments should be incredibly encouraging to PS3 fans. If more high-profile developers and publishers continue flocking to PSN, who knows what kinds of truly daring games we'll see in the PS3's future.

Eddie @ Jan 3rd 2008 12:48PM
Hehehe... yeah, I love PSN!! All my demos and awesome games... woohoo!!

Getting less? Dude, I own a PS3 and Xbox 360 and there is no doubt that the 360 has the best online network. I just think you're blind because you're a fanboy. I love my PS3, but the 360 has a better online experience.

Yeah, what is the limit on XBox Live game downloads? Isn't it like 50 megs or something completely ridiculous like that?
Josh @ Jan 3rd 2008 1:17PM
250 MB

PSN needs one more thing to be perfect: Make it global :/
Seriously, it sucks for anyone that doesn't live in USA or Japan since we can't purchase anything from their stores. Specially those that live in regions like South America or Africa, who can't buy from any PSN store whatsoever.

Atleast somebody is putting their foot down and admitting the truth.
Dehshizknight @ Jan 3rd 2008 3:22PM
Well, Mark Rein was also quite supportive of the PS3 saying that the freedom it offered led to Unreal Tournament III being exclusive to PS3.

Good stuff, now...TRA for PS3, please :)
matthew_neitzer @ Jan 3rd 2008 1:26PM

ryan @ Jan 3rd 2008 1:51PM
you have it dude.
it's called TRA for Playstation 2...or maybe you have a Newer PS3 then sorry for your loss.
matthew_neitzer @ Jan 3rd 2008 4:31PM
It would be nice to have a version with better textures and in a higher resolution that I can just download. I do understand what you mean though, I would just like one that was made for the PS3.
Ranus Studios @ Jan 3rd 2008 1:30PM
Yes, my friend, you are bold, but are you also... daring?
Andy @ Jan 3rd 2008 1:42PM
The PSN is not just flexible with the store. XBL is limited to P2P online* while PS3 games can either be P2P or superior server based.
Not to mention PSN has a web browser which means companies do not need to go through Sony to get content to the PSN.
PSN also has no size restrictions to the Playstation store like this fellow is saying
And the PSN allows user created mods like in UT3.
Xbox live has
-holiday growing pains
-membership fee
-in game chat/access to friends in game
-movie rentals
-more games online
-younger community
-bettter fps players
*EA forced Microsoft to let them use there own servers so they can cancel online after a certain amount of time
deaftly @ Jan 3rd 2008 1:55PM
It might be more flexible but the way that XBlive is integrated into the 360's dashboard and its games just trumps PSN completely. When PSN decides to do this and not just rely on a lame webpage then we can talk.
