First user-released UTIII mod - the Action Cam

We know exactly what you've been thinking everytime you load up Unreal Tournament III - "I wish I could see more of my character's back". Well help is at hand. One of the first mods to be released by the UTIII mod community is a third-person camera mutator. This allows you to play the game as if it was a third person shooter, similar to Uncharted.

The over-the-shoulder viewpoint gives the game a very different feel and comes with a few aesthetic restrictions. Firstly, bulky character models such as the Krall can obscure your view, so it's best to stick with something a little more svelt. The fact that you never see your weapon means that you also need to pay close attention to the shape of the crosshair, or you could end up blowing yourself up with a rocket launcher you picked up without noticing.

Is there something you gotta do to play with this mod? cause actually earlier I got to play in a room that was 3rd person, but I dunno what I did?

If you join a game where the host has enabled this mutator, UT3 will automatically download if for you. However, I believe that you have to install it if you want to play with it for games that you create (either instant action against bots or hosting games). It wont work with the single player campaign or on servers that don't have this mutator enabled. When you download it, it should extract into the correct directory structure that you can put on a USB stick or other device that you can plug into your PS3.

Can I shoot you an e-mail about the fact that the PS3 mod tools have been released? Because apparently sending you a "News tip" doesn't work. :/
I think it's been more than two hours since I've sent this "tip", and yet all I saw pop up was:

Not that I don't care about that, but I thought using the "Send us news tips" button would be a little more instantaneous... Especially since you've posted three articles after I sent you said tip.

I think the ps3 mod tools story was commented and published earlier. I know I sent the LBP CES around 3 and Andrew wrote an article like an hour later. I think the tip link is broken cause I send info and long behold later or maybe days they write an article. Not to diss you guys or anything

this may be weird but is there any way to contact you about mods...I tried Unreal 2 editor demo and am still getting around in unreal 3 editor. Be nice to ask someone with experience

Is this game actually worth while buying? Or is it better to wait? I'm deciding between this game or The Orange Box

The Orange Box does not run well on PS3. Half Life 2 + Ep 1 run ok, Portal works fine, Team Fortress and Half Life 2 Episode 2 don't run well. At all. Team Fortress online is gimped considerably, you'll realize that if you are able to launch it, and ep 2 suffers from incredible frame drops that just stops any gameplay.
UT3 needs some patching up on PS3 as well because there are a few things missing or things that are a bit buggy, but at least the whole game works fine and is definitely playable both offline and online. I have it for PC and online is great fun, PS3 is just the same according to people who got it. :) I admit that I am a big UT fan, but if you really want The Orange Box you should get it on PC. Or on XBox. Forget about the PS3, until news of a patch for it come out. UT3 however is fine both on PC and PS3, and I expect also on XBox when it will come out.

Actually episode 2 works fine as long as you aren't playing it in HD, but tf2 does lag a bit.

I laugh at you pc gamers. You are not real gamers, you are nerds with a mouse and a keyboard. real gamers use controllers and play on consoles. I dont care what 8800gt graphics card u are using. Or how sick the graphics on Crysis are. Point blank is if you pick up a controller and join a session you will get PWNED. Now go use microsoft word or something.

Can anyone help me to get this mutator working on the pc UT3? I got it to work fine on the ps3, but I followed all of the instructions for the pc and it just doesnt show up on the mutators option.
