Call of Duty 4 will get updates today, near future

This is coming straight from the studio that brought us the PS3 title in question: Call of Duty 4. There have been issues with the PS3 version of the game for a while and some of these issues have been addressed. More keep creeping up, though. Infinity Ward is on the job, though -- "I'm going to have an update for you in the near future (probably tomorrow) regarding the server issues you may have experienced over the holiday break while attempting to play online in Call of Duty 4 PS3; this update should give you all the background information on the issue and some fixes that should be going into effect."

This was listed yesterday, so if you haven't tried playing today, go ahead and boot up to see if an update is in place. If not, expect it and any subsequent updates regarding recent issues to pop up in the next few days.

Why can't I download anything? It prompted me to download version 1.1 and when I tried doing that it kept booting me off, I have never had a problem with my online connection or downloading any other updates for the PS3 or any of my games.

I got the game and i've never had any problems getting online but they did fix the problem for the time it takes to find a game so its really good on ps3 but I was wondering when they are making the patch available on ps3 because they have it on pc and it looks cool

Holy crap, if this patch isn't overdue... the last patch didn't fix anything that I could see. Hopefully this one works. Nothing was worse than having a few days off and not being able to play this online.

the CoD4 servers have improved a LOT in the last 2 days, after over a week of trouble, looks like its been fixed or at least improved quite a bit. hope we get the patch soon (for the updated features they promised)

I cant even get online with this game, If you are not a certain level than it takes forever and in my case, at all to get online. Its almost as if the COD4 online boat has left leaving newbies hanging.
I hope they fixed it

Not true.....I just got the game yesterday and was able to get online with no trouble.

The patch helped a lot I think, it dramatically decreased the time it took to find a game.

I was able to get online from south korea quite easily two days ago. This was after I beat single player campagin.

I hope they fix the I host games problem. I know i cant host games because my internet is crappy but good enough to play but yet they do.

WHo cares about f**king Rumble just fix the host has departed issue and at least allow us to pick which games to enter as im sick of the bad pings i get on my fantastic connection

i'm posting this at 4:03 am, but i tried playing at 3:50 am before the posted that (call of duty 4 would be down for maintenance between 4 and 6)or something to that extent. "they just ripped me off of ten minutes of playing time" as i screamed into my playstation eye, microphone.

i know they heard me.

Uh...I may be wrong, but I don't think you'll have any problems since the update to the servers has already been made this morning at 0700 EST. Thanks for playing mate.

I hate the fact that when you go into a server with a bad ping or against other players with a bad ping your ping sucks too

Hey fellas,
Just wanted to let yall know that thisis not just a PS3 issue. I have COD4 for 360 and it has been HORRIBLE for like the past 2 weeks. It is hard for you to hoin a game with your party, a lot of times the host can join but the rest of the players get dropped. Also it is hard to find a game period. It also does a few other weird things that I find hard to explain but is best described as "It acts like its possessed".

Yeah the hit detection was really stupid in a few games I played yesterday. I'm 41 in rank and should be getting a decent number of kills. After the match was over I saw the opposing teams' pings...and they were all great. My team's pings, including my own, were all crap. That explained everything.

according charlioscardelta forum, demonware just fixed their server problem.. n 402, IW communication manager, said about the 'real' patch had been sent to demonware n its up to them now to released it.. in the near future..

Has anyone else had PROBLEMS with these updates? I've been getting messages of "No network connection detected." This is despite the fact that I've joined rooms and been TALKING to other people via voice chat moments before and after. Anyone else have problems?

And no, the voices aren't in my head.
