Looks like we'll both be importing, if we even shell out the cash at all!
pjak @ Jan 8th 2008 2:41PM
The price is too high...it costs almost as the PSP, itself.
Especially as it sounds like only one country will be included per kit.

Don't Sony realise that the GPS price in Japan is 6,000 JPY which is 38 EUR (approx).
trystero @ Jan 8th 2008 3:03PM
Holy jesus, that's expensive. You can buy a "budget" gps in the states for ~$150. I can't imagine this will perform better than a budget dedicated gps :)
Lars @ Jan 9th 2008 1:45PM
From what I've seen, it looks like the higher end GPS's, not at all like a "budget" one.
It costs about $400-$600 for a low-end decent GPS.
daniel-kun @ Jan 8th 2008 3:04PM
Yay! Now these are reasonable prices.

If the maps are made available separately, you can get the GPS receiver from China on a well know auction website for £30. Bargain!!
afiq tadza @ Jan 8th 2008 5:46PM
it works with the old PSPs too right??
if so....that would be cool
Darth Theo @ Jan 8th 2008 5:59PM
I hear in Greece to us a gps system you have to pay monthly and the units are expensive. Does anyone have practical knowledge? Since Greece is the "Florida" of Europe does anyone expect maps of Greece?
Fouro @ Jan 8th 2008 6:06PM
The price is extremely high! WHo can be so dumb to buy this thing??
James @ Jan 8th 2008 7:05PM
Well looks like I won't be buying one of these after all...

i wonder if the software will work with the japanese gps which can be purchased for a lot cheaper online. not that it would help me since Australia has been left out!
Edwin @ Jan 8th 2008 10:33PM
dudes, those are not USD!
also, the Co!Cam costs more than the Chotto Shotto in Japan and it doesnt even come with software.
i got my in play-asia and i did some research.
also, ppl dont wnt to spend much on an add-on...
so the prices will chance with time. i bet it might top the 100 if the software is that good... more than 100, then Sony is really ripping us off!
lol

^ yeah its not USD, but that makes it worse. €119 is nearly $175 USD.

It's far too expensive, but it'll be loads better than your standard TomTom. Think about it - a TomTom uses a tiny 256mb card for the map data, and a PSP has access to more than 6 times this on UMD PLUS downloads on the Mem Stick. On top of that, the PSP screen is Huge compared to all of the UK standard GPS systems on offer. TomTom has touch screen....and what? Don't know about you, but I'm happy pressing buttons.

Its expensive and the selection of countrys is meh ... why didnt they made downloadable maps for all countrys , and lowered the price a bit ?
bobo @ Feb 19th 2008 1:57PM
Man, what is expensive to you? A full 3D accelerated IGO 8 (Go!explore) ?? that is so cheap man! do your math!! that is unbelievebly cheap! i payed 700$ only on my PDA (FS n560) when it came out. then payed a lot more on maps and software. everything together and it's still much much behind psp and goexplore when it comes to smoothness in gfx and battery life.
Just think man! this is the best gps system in the world and the price is extremely low.
