Sony shows off the new Skype Headset

Sony has released an image of the upcoming Skype headset, to be released around the same time as the Skype functionality becomes available. While the headphones are stylish enough, we're a bit put off by how wirey the whole thing is. We're dreaming, of course, but wouldn't it be nice if Sony released a USB Bluetooth receiver for the PSP, allowing you to use a nice, wire free, headset with Skype?
While the headset itself may be stuck in the 90s, we're still ecstatic that Sony chose Skype for their VOIP needs. PSP to PC chat for free is awesome, regardless of the headwear.

Come on Sony this blows, give me a small bendable mic I can plug in and just use the PSP speakers to listen with.

Ok I bought this, I just figured what the heck ill check it out.
Well the darn thing damaged my video output now the red and blue does not display on videos or games all I get is yellow and green video.
I proved it was the Sony PSP headphone plug that damaged it as I got a new PSP tried out the video and it worked great untill I needed to make a Skype phone call using the Sony PSP headset, after that call I plugged back into the TV to play a game and ill be dammed if it did not happen again
NO RED OR BLUE video just green and yellow I then looked at the connection with a mag glass and sure enough one pin is severed, the headset still works guess it did not use this pin.
Sony must have farmed the production of this headset out to China or something.

This mic/headset looks just like the existing mic/headset on the market. So hopefully that means those that own the PSP-2000 compatible remote and mic/headset won't have to buy anything new.

Ugh, I've got Sony headphones exactly like that, without the mic. the quality is great but god they make you look stupid wearing them

Well in Japan, they get to use the Talkman mic for Skype instead of this really annoying solution.

yea they look alright but to talk in this modern day in the world i prolly would not leave my house with theses. But non or the less at least we got some way of talking right?

wow Sony is releasing a "new" headset???? O.o; the "new" battery for the 2000 series was the same as the old battery and now this headset is the same as the 1 from socom game??
