Lost Planet gets PS3-exclusive character
Capcom is throwing PS3 owners a bone with their upcoming port of the former Xbox 360 exclusive, Lost Planet. Luka, the female character pictured above, will also be playable in the upcoming game. The additional characters from the PC adventure (Frank West, Joe and Mega Man) will also be available.
While this addition isn't likely to take people off the Capcom haterade, it should come as a reassuring sign of things to come. This isn't the first time high profile Xbox 360 exclusives have moved to the PS3 with additional content. For example, the upcoming RPG, Eternal Sonata from Namco Bandai, will feature significant new content when it arrives on PS3.

Oooh, great. Maybe they can give the PS3 version an exclusive "good" mode too.

That's asking quite a lot.
eugene @ Jan 11th 2008 6:32PM
LOL, I was thinking the same thing. did not want on the 360 and do not want on the PS3

*rubs hands at the possible advent of Bioshock multiplayer mode on ps3*

Ohhhhh...wow.......such a great feature. Now, instead of "shooting the orange weak point with auto-lockon" I can enjoy "shooting the orange weak point with auto-lockon (as a chick)." Please tell me why this game keeps getting ported everywhere?

Just as a warning, if you don't like mech games don't buy this game. They trick you into thinking it's just a regular shooter with a couple mechs here and there but about half way through it just becomes a mech game.

Haterade.
Really, Yoon?

I really never had a hatearade against Capcom.
I understand the need to make money. Plus I never played Monster Hunter.
Lost Planet was also a nice little game I played at Javitts Center on the PC.
But hey Haterade, maybe it can be marketed as like Hate Drink for the body and soul.

Lost Planet's "story" and "characters" ........ The most gargantuan insult to intelligence I have ever witnessed in 28 years of gaming.
Painful and derogatory to even the heaviest of mouthbreathers.
Gameplay is abysmal. Lame shooting, Game breaking animation loops causing unfair deaths and one boring boss battle every ten minutes to artificially give the thing length.
Pretty graphics.

I'm still unsure if I'll get a PS3 yet(waiting till they become about £220) but i really like this game why do you all hate it? Adding the mechs made it more interesting....
And you get a 360 game ported to the PS3 that's a good thing.....1 less 360 exclusive....
finelicker @ Jan 12th 2008 6:19AM
Game is still meh, they would have been better off porting that evil dead game with the photographer whose name escapes me. ?!?
Ahhh, dead rising, thats it.

Maybe they can release a graphically/ sonically inferior version for Wii, with wavey-wavey controls to sweeten the pill...perhaps with Wii exclusive DMC 5/ Monster Hunter Onimusha 5 demos on the disc?
;)
Neil @ Jan 12th 2008 1:13PM
I'm not sure Capcom can do anything to this game that would make it anything more than a meh for me.
As for hating them, that's also a meh, I mean it's just good biz to go where you can make the most money, and last year that was the 360. Thankfully this year things should be much better for the PS3.

sweet, i will be ditching my xbox 360 copy of this game to get the ps3 version for free online gaming! the online multiplayer is hella fun and this extra makes it even sweeter as i can the play the single player all over again.
