Yet another 50% off Blu-ray sale
Dear amazon.com,
Please stop having Blu-ray sales. Your attempts at making us build our Blu-ray libraries have been devastating to our wallets. Sure, you keep on adding more movies every time you have a sale, but we'd love it if you'd stop tempting us. Right now, your 50% off sale makes many of these Blu-ray discs cost the same (or less) than their DVD counterparts. Will you continue torturing us once HD DVD is officially declared dead?
Love,
PS3 Fanboy

Amazon ain't offered anything so far on blu-rays from what I know... every single other shop... yes pretty much every single shop that stocks blu-rays are doing a 3 for 2 offer but I think thats more of an official offer seeing as most shops share the same 3 for 2 sticker
boltu222 @ Jan 13th 2008 8:49AM
I mean in he UK btw
and @ 22 jango fett
I believe majority of blu-rays are region free...
Liquid @ Jan 12th 2008 6:51PM
Wish amazon.co.uk had the same offers on. we always get ripped off here in the UK.
Haiddasalami @ Jan 12th 2008 7:42PM
Dont feel alone! I wish some of these deals could be on the canadian amazon. 7$ for shipping WTF? I am right next to you.
HawkeyePierce @ Jan 12th 2008 7:10PM
You guys know that you can import those movies........
And if your scared that they wont work on our Pal (region2) machines -> check the following website to check if they are compatible.
Url -> http://bluray.liesinc.net/
If ordered about 20 blurays from amazon.com :P and theyre all working fine. (almost half price compared to local shops)
Thx PS3fanboy for keeping me up to date on those 2 for 1 deals (and this deal of course)
Haiddasalami @ Jan 12th 2008 7:36PM
again no dice for canadians....I want my wallet to be broke! WAH!
vegi-saurus @ Jan 12th 2008 10:34PM
FYI, amazon.com ships movies to Canada (unfortunately not the same can be said for games). No tax or duties as movies will be shipped out from Mississauga, ON. Shipping can be pricey if you buy lots though.
Got myself Spidey Trilogy and the 2 animes Paprika + Tekkon Kinkreet.
Haiddasalami @ Jan 12th 2008 10:40PM
@vegi
I know they ship, its the cost of shipping that is outrageous as they are shipping it out of missisauga
matthew_neitzer @ Jan 12th 2008 9:33PM
Lost Season 3 on Blu-ray, under $60. I wish I hadn't just lost my job!
The Aggie CEO @ Jan 12th 2008 9:46PM
I hope they have another one of these sales when I get my Refund checks for school
Liquid @ Jan 12th 2008 9:59PM
Thanks for the link HawkeyePierce. I will check it out because these deal are much better than the UK one by far !
JTM @ Jan 12th 2008 10:06PM
Those kinda look like their regular prices. Maybe a few dollars less than usual.
roach @ Jan 12th 2008 10:42PM
yup, that's what I was saying....
sales should not consist of inflated MSRP
NACHO @ Jan 12th 2008 11:03PM
You wanna buy something? Go get Folklore. I'm not really an RPG fan, but this game really is amazing. The cutscenes have the best graphics i've ever seen, and playing one level with two characters and two viewpoints is genious. So worth my $57 to amazon.
JTM @ Jan 12th 2008 11:42PM
Why was my comment deleted? Was it something I said?
JTM @ Jan 13th 2008 12:34AM
Nevermind, my comment is back. Guess the server is having issues today.
roach @ Jan 13th 2008 3:29AM
Damn server....why is he hatin on you?
lionzub @ Jan 13th 2008 12:47AM
Ok to that guy that thinks the shipping is crazy:
I'm from Ontario, and $10 dollars shipping with no tax and duty for two Blu-ray movies is amazing considering the alternative. I just ordered Hellboy for $14.99 and Casino Royale for $19.97. Look those up in Ontario retail stores and you'll see that they run roughly $36 dollars each with 13% tax.
jango fett @ Jan 13th 2008 3:53AM
you dont get this in the uk? no worries. just import them over from the us. oh wait a minute, thats right you cant! their region locked...
ryan @ Jan 13th 2008 3:19PM
love Paprika.
is anime/cartoons any better on hi-def?
Andrew Yoon @ Jan 13th 2008 3:19PM
As a proud owner of Tekkonkinkreet, I can admit that the visuals are absolutely stunning in HD. Anime looks so vibrant on Blu-ray.
craig @ Jan 13th 2008 2:55PM
Paprika is a decent movie if you want nice visuals and some truly original dream sequences, but don't expect a movie that makes any sense. Tekkonkinkreet is the anime I would buy if I had a choice between the two. If you want animation, though, the Pixar films are the best of the bunch (do not, however, buy the short film collection).
