Bionic Commando PSN remake is stunning
Capcom really knows how to make their 2D remakes worthwhile. Super Street Fighter II features new HD sprites from Udon Comics that make it look absolutely dream-like. Their upcoming Bionic Commando continues the trend. Utilizing assets from the upcoming 3D Commando game, this revival of the NES classic adds new gameplay elements. This downloadable title certainly doesn't feel small budget at all, due to its nice graphical overhaul.
It's been nearly twenty years since the original's release. Ben Judd told IGN that, "We have taken special steps to get feedback and opinions from some of the staff that were working at Capcom at the same time on other titles in order to maintain the 'classic style' of gaming that we feel Bionic Commando Rearmed needed." Let's hope it plays as well as it looks!

Will this updated version also have Hitler in it? Or are we too sensitive now for that sort of thing?
Schoolimangooli @ Jan 17th 2008 6:49PM
I'm going to buy the game just to find out who made that song it is fantastic!
Majortom1981 @ Jan 17th 2008 6:51PM
There also was an arcade version so are you guys sure this is a port of the nes version and not the arcade version?
zyxwiley @ Jan 17th 2008 8:44PM
Nope, if you google for images of the arcade version, it doesn't look nearly this good. My guess it has something to do with this:
"In 2004, a previous remake of the original game was reportedly in the works by Capcom Studio 8 to be released for the Playstation 2, but the project was abandoned when the studio closed in 2006." - Wikipedia
So I take it they revitalized this project for PSN / XBL.

meh.... its going to the SuckBox360 Live service so i dont understand why to bother with this... its not an exclusive for the PSN :(
TXCrowe @ Jan 17th 2008 7:18PM
Wait, so you can only enjoy Exclusives?
So, you don't enjoy games/gaming, rather you enjoy haha not yours!
Thats rather , well, sad.
Hyams @ Jan 17th 2008 8:55PM
The fact that it's on the 360 too will affect your enjoyment of the game ... how?
Flame @ Jan 17th 2008 7:03PM
Whoa that looked great. Loved how he was using his arm to haul in the enemy bloke. I'm a bit naff at platformers but might have a go at this one.

when this coming though??
Luke @ Jan 17th 2008 7:54PM
I was mad at capcom for a long time for going multiplat form, but I am getting over it now. Those DMC 4 videos look pretty sweet. I heard that Capcom did take advantage of the PS3 harddrive making load times way shorter on PS3. I guess Capcom is alright. I am still not gonna buy that old lost planet game though. This PSN title looks sweet too. I wonder when it is being released.
DonSamuel @ Jan 17th 2008 8:49PM
The original was one of my all time favorites for NES. This remake is gonna be sweeet !
zyxwiley @ Jan 17th 2008 8:33PM
$20 says this title does better than the next gen version they have up the pipeline.
John @ Jan 17th 2008 8:43PM
This is gorgeous, especially seeing the shadows of the player, and the way the screen zooms in all 3d-like. I hope this starts a trend for other 2d scrollers to come to this gen.
ashkungfu @ Jan 17th 2008 9:00PM
