Singstar gets a SingStore update (finally)

The update isn't a complete failure, however. There are a few tracks that we're tempted to nab. Namely, David Bowie's "Life On Mars" and The Fray's "How To Save A Life". For the full list of new songs check after the break.
- Arrested Development's "Tennessee"
- Blur's "Girls And Boys"
- Blur's "The Universal"
- Blur's "To The End"
- Blur's "She's So High"
- Cartel's "Lose It"
- David Bowie's "Life On Mars"
- The Fray's "How To Save A Life"
- KT Tunstall's "Suddenly I See"
- Roxy Music's "Avalon"
- Supergrass' "Pumping On The Stereo"
- Supergrass' "Richard III"
- Supegrass' "Sun Hits The Sky"

Mostly meh, but Life on Mars & Richard III rock.

Not too bad, spent a fiver in the store... Rather spend a fiver on this, than £30 a year on unreliable Xbox live...

PS3 Fanboy: "Let's totally ignore the NPD numbers today"
Popfrogs @ Jan 18th 2008 2:19PM
NPD only covers North America and not even the entire retail chain. We already know how strong the PS3 is doing worldwide..why use NPD as a measure when it's incomplete?

Oops I spoke too soon. :)

Actually, there are 18 songs, the other are "non English" so you have to change your filters in the SingStore!
Also, I am pretty sure that Three Speech posted that the next up date would be "week commencing 4th Feb"...

It's a disaster!

I hope that by the time SingStar comes out in the US, things will get better, but then again, I don't think I'd mind a slow start at first, I just really don't want to be told "TBA" when I just really want the game already. =P I'm jealous of those who already own SingStar, but I am sorry about the SingStore service being subpar at the moment. Come on, SCE London Studio, we all know you can do better than this. ;)
Tranando @ Jan 18th 2008 2:58PM
The US songs are bound to be different. So the US Singstar will get the UK/Euro content, and the UK/Euro store will unfortunatly get the US music content...

Why so much negativity in all the ps3fanboy articles lately? Seriously, we get it. It'd be nicer if you just reported the news and not the slant on it. I'm not saying you should sugarcoat things, just relax. That's my $0.02.

I don’t think you reported on the previous update that was somewhere in December; glad to read about this update here now, hope you will continue to post about new songs!
As for the number of songs, they said 18, of which three were Spanish. Those are probably only available if you select the Spanish language, just like e.g. German also has a couple of its own songs — including the German version of 99 Luftballons by the way :). I really wonder why they put the English one on the Dutch store, it was the German version that was popular in the Netherlands.

Have they already moved onto another project?
It's like they update the songs whenever they get around to it and next to none of them are in HD...
