Finally, PS2 and PSP owners can go head-to-head

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX The Beginning of Destiny includes more than 2,400 cards allowing for new decks and dueling strategies. Players can also connect online to duelists playing Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 2 on the PSP to battle more characters and collect more cards. It reminds us a little of Pokemon.
Hopefully, this won't be the only time we hear of such a feature. Wouldn't it be great if PSP owners could go head to head against other PS2 and PS3 owners? Imagine playing MLB, and having a pitch thrown on a PS3, while a batter on a PSP somewhere else in the world is able to take a swing. The online world of PSP would open up so much if Sony wanted it to ...

good idea shame about the game, it'd be good if you could connect psp's gameshare to share with the ps3
Hashbrown_Hunter @ Jan 24th 2008 8:27PM

No, instead of adding more cool features like this to other games, Sony wants to waste its time making "Home."
Just for the record, i think Sony completely missed the point of what makes xbox live so good. Oh well, still love my sony stuff.
Extinction @ Jan 24th 2008 1:24PM
Don't be an idiot.
1) The team working on Home, is a different team than the ones making games or other features for PSP/PS3
2) Live is inferior to PSN. Live uses peer to peer, which makes it laggier, limited to lower players in-game, lowers audio quality for voice chat, makes games vulnerable to lag attacks and gives the host an advantage
PSN offers every feature Live does except for in-game messaging which is coming (as it's being worked on by a seperate team) and uses dedicated servers. Which means games have far superior in-game performance.
And in-game performance in an online game is more important than being able to message other people. We play games to play games, after all.
Autobon @ Jan 24th 2008 1:46PM
Extinction, Live is much better than the PSN network. Granted the PSN network has vastly improved from PS2, it is still not in any way superior to xbox live.
I would love actual proof to everything your saying. You know, like charts showing the live lag vs. PSN lag. So much of what your saying is complete crap. I have both consoles and i prefer Live over PSN any day. Granted PSN has games like Resistance that have very addicting online, but thats not because its supported better than live.
Autobon @ Jan 24th 2008 1:50PM
That is the biggest load of crap i have ever heard in my life, lol.
HAAS599 @ Jan 24th 2008 1:59PM
autobon just got pwned
xbox has already plateau IMO
PS3 is still raising and most Ps3 owners see the potential and see it being a lot better than xbox360
like tom petty said "the waiting is the hardest part"
Brello @ Jan 24th 2008 3:20PM
@Autobon
Exactly, PSN is vastly better than what little networking options were available with the PS2, but it's no Live. I didn't think anyone would disagree, honestly.
merc25 @ Jan 24th 2008 4:44PM
1.)Autobon is right
2.) on the article itself: good idea, now put in a game I like.
The Dark Trooper @ Jan 24th 2008 5:34PM
You can play online with a PS2 in World Poker Tour, Its just a shame the game is full of lag and crashes often when someone joins the game
Alien @ Jan 25th 2008 12:06PM
I agree with Hasbrown_hunter .... the idea is amazing , to bad that it wasnt made for an MGS caliber game though :?
