I need to play the first 2. Its hard to play it on my psp since my analog stick gets stuck alot so the character wont run forward only creep along sometimes and its nerve racking.

I liked the first one's idea, but the controls broke it for me. Many people said you get used to it over time and the game gets really awesome later on, and I believe that, but this is not a n00b-friendly game. It actually takes a lot more skill than it looks, and some people can do that. I can't, so I guess that's my loss.
Either way if anyone is interested in it, I do recommend it, but with caution. Plus I've heard the 2nd is better.

Maybe some ppl get used to the controls after some time, just not me. I rented the game -twice- to see what the fuzz was all about, and nah, the game isn't that great for me to tolerate the awful camera. It's really awful. The whole time all I could think about was how nice would the game be with a follow camera like MOST games.

oh man...i'm excited.
i'm currently playing Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (the video is the "sequel" to that game) and i've already got 70 hours of gameplay on it!
i can see the joke about the "barmaids" because the really understand the video, you need to have really played it. in MHF2, they only have the first two of the barmaids which represent the difficulty of the quests you can take, now that theres a third, that means theres a lot more to do in the game.
not to mention all the additional monsters, weapons, armor, etc. i'm looking forward to an American release...

I absolutely LOVED Monster Hunter for PS2. After you play the original for PS2, it's just hard as hell for me to play on PSP.
They pretty much messed up US sales for not releasing Monster Hunter 2, and having MH3 for Wii :(.

its funny how the blog mention that the game is super popular in japan but it never got big in US. Im a MH fan....been a fan since MH1 on the PS2. A lot of ppl complain about how the game is too hard, the control is annoying, the camera is stupid etc. I say get over it. Yes it is annoying how the camera has to be moved manually to see that monster on the other side of the field, but that is part of the game. You don't see the Japanese players complaining over it. And what about Monster Hunter Frontier ? the PC version of this game. Japan is getting an expansion of it already called "Season 2"
