Faith and a .45 devs toss their ideas around about the game

A sheriff named Duke plays a role sort of like Nemesis from Resident Evil 3 -- constantly hunting down the protagonists on their journey across the country. Boss battles will exist, but come in the form of a tank or an area swamped with well-trained baddies instead of one super-powered gun-toting maniac. You can upgrade your weapons, puzzles will be physics-based (sorry, wooden box puzzle lovers) and a narrative that goes beyond scripted cut-scenes. Perhaps branching stories based on your choices, but the early development cycle allows the devs to figure all that out later. It's a 2009 or 1

damn, commenting using a PS3 is tricky! "Sounds" even.

I had never seen someone put themselves through the torture of typing posts on the internet on their PS3, without a keyboard.
That requires a high level of self-hatred. Good job!

Using the PS3 to type things out isn't that hard. If you're going fast, you might miss the letter you wanted to type, but other then that not that bad.

Eh, at least it's QWERTY. For some reason the Xbox in-dash keyboard is ABC. Without a keyboard, you might as well just use voice messenging.

Quoted:**The goal on the development side is to use these sorts of interactions to make the player care about Luke and Ruby as characters and their connection in the story. "We have a design rule to make sure that Ruby is really interesting and easy to play with," says Lundgaard. "What we call it is 'To play around with an unscripted A.I. you care for' -- that's the line that we use internally. That means Ruby should be able to take the initiative on her own, not just react or be scripted to exactly what she has to do...**
O_O Is it me, or am I having Daikatana flashbacks after reading that??? O_O

To be honest I just wanted to be first and didn't have time to boot the laptop.
(I'm kidding)
The PS3 type tool is fine for short messages (i.e. random one word abuse to my friends when I'm feeling bored) and the predictive text feature is actually quite handy. I wouldn't write an essay on it though.
Back to my point. I'm sure they'll come out with some hackneyed reason why Luke and Duke are named thusly (they're brothers, one is the antithesis of the other, Duke is a figment of Luke's imagination) but it still sounds a bit trite and sloppy to me.
You know you're in trouble when the naming of characters in new games is the biggest thing to irk you.

Maybe their parents were just Dukes of Hazzard fans (but hated Bo).
