Debut trailer emerges for Faith and a .45
For a game that isn't due out until 2009-2010, we've been getting slapped in the face with a good bit of information regarding Deadline Games' Faith and a .45. Above is the debut trailer for the title, showcasing the style of the game which, over the course of at least a year, may or may not change. Sort of looks like Uncharted, eh? We're sure the final product won't have a ton of bad guys wearing scarves -- just a few. Still, there's no defined platform for the game or anything, so we'll just keep on serving the information as it's dished out.

Not a great graphics engine for 2010.
RazLeboL @ Feb 1st 2008 2:13PM
Wow, looks much better than I expected.

The gameplay, yes. The graphics look like something out of the PS2 era. Hope it gets better, 'cause this looks like an awesome concept.

Really? I liked the graphics. They're a lot more vibrant and alive than Kane and Lynch. Sure, the fire effects were pretty PS2-ish, but for a game that's in pre-alpha it's looking mighty fine.

If it ends up being a 2P Uncharted, sign me up!

I also thought it looked like Uncharted.
Hopefully this will be the second succesfull Danish game release?

Looks pretty cool to me. I love the 40's western steampunk look. Can't really say much more, but if they put the same kind of story and depth into it as Uncharted, I'll buy it.

I was tired of Gears clones after Gears... co-op is always fun though.
JJ @ Feb 1st 2008 3:34PM
so because there's a cover system its a gears clone? You do know Gears didnt innovate the cover system, anymore than Halo innovated the first person shooter.
It did a fantastic job of the cover system, no doubt, but it did NOT create that mechanic.
Hashbrown_Hunter @ Feb 1st 2008 6:37PM
Actually Kill.switch created the mechanic, so you should actually be calling it a K.S clone.

Halo's just another FPS to me. I don't understand what's so special - other than it has a flowing and rather good story..
Anyway.
I liked it, there's still another year or two for refinements to it, certain aspects seemed somewhat static, I would hope - even if that section is an FMV, that in the final version, the car which explodes, actually deforms when it comes back down... would make it a lot more "21st century".
Almost every FPS has some form of cover system in it now anyway - perhaps it's to do with developers feel they can actually use it without it impeeding on their stories and their ideas etc, but that they can also do it proper and good.

"...[Halo] has a flowing and rather good story."
What..?

If the game play is as fun as this makes it seem, I'll be getting it. I'm assuming the graphics will get smoother (they look good, but some of the moving parts need some smoothing) in the next 18-30 months before its release, but even if it they don't I'll still get it if it plays as fun as it looks. To me the most important parts of a game are (1) game play, (2) compelling story, (3) graphics. Poorly done graphics can certainly ruin a game, but these are certainly not *that* bad.
Popfrogs @ Feb 1st 2008 4:35PM
Damn, I just watched it again and that's one tough car that explodes. It comes down upside down and not only does the structure hold firm but the glass doesn't even break.
solidus636 @ Feb 2nd 2008 1:53AM
Does anyone notice the resemblence between the two characters and Peter Parker/Mary Jane?
I see a BIG one...
mooseaka @ Feb 2nd 2008 11:29AM
Actually, she looks like Scully with redder hair. Same haircut and everything.
