PS3 Poll Police: Picking up Devil May Cry 4?

Well, the Poll Police know what you're thinking: Capcom betrayed us! Boycott! Mommy, my finger hurts when I put it in the blender! Whatever. Fact of the matter is, Devil May Cry 4 is releasing this week and we want to know how many of you are as excited as the staff of PS3 Fanboy. Are you picking it up? Give us your best Dante-inspired one-liner in the comment section to relay your excitement.
We're joking about the last one. Sort of. There's no point in getting upset over spilt milk. There's especially no point in not buying a great game for the PS3, when buying it would send a stronger message than refusing to. In any case, we hope a lot of you are looking forward to the game! Want to know what happened in last week's poll? Sure, just take the jump.

While saying the 80GB is "canceled" might not be the most accurate of statements, the fact of the matter is the console is vanishing from prominent retailers with very little explanation. We asked what you thought the reason for it was, through our non-exhaustive list, and you all seem to have come up with an answer. Dual Shock 3. None of the other choices had more or less of a conclusion, but the Dual Shock 3 getting packaged into future consoles is a pretty good guess. We don't know if it's right, but it makes the most sense. Sales were good on the 80GB, production costs aren't that high, and a white PS3 and bundle wouldn't make the old 80GB vanish. I'm a huge fan of the badassery that is DMC and have every game in the series. Although I still need to pick up Viewtiful Joe for the awesome Dante appearance. Anyway, this is a must buy for me.

Not my kind of game. I've never played a game in the Devil May Cry series. After playing the demo, I think its safe to say that I'll pass on this one as well.

I'd like to go out and get it the day it's released ... only it's coming out on a Tuesday in the UK, and that's the worst possible day for me (busy pretty much all day).

Guess I'll be grabbing it on Wednesday.

Same here. I played the beginning of the first game and the demo of the fourth, but I just can't get into it. I don't like the style or presentation.

And the combat is repetitive and boring, until you suddenly get to a boss fight and it becomes stupidly hard, at which point you just stop caring.

Couldn't agree more. Underwhelming demo bored the pants off me, as expected. Not a fan of any CAPCOM dev'd games except for the great RE4 (and hopefully RE5, and RE:Outbreak for some reason).

Yeah, it's the same for me with RE. None of the previous ones ever appealed to me, but RE4 was completely different, and was a good game.

But there are still other Capcom series that I love (Ace Attorney, for example).

I was excited about this game, but when I played the demo and saw they still have the whole "pause for 5 seconds while red barricading web appears to load monsters" thing, it really turned me off as that should be completely in the past.

Passing on this until a killer deal comes around.

Well, if it was like the last game, then those pauses showing the web appearing will only show a few times, usually only when you get into a new area.

yeah, me too, they should have made that a category for the survey. I picked it up on the 31st.

up to mission 7 and its still not too hard (and I am a wimp with these kinds of things)

and I agree on it being the best ps3 game since Uncharted. although Uncharted's graphics and game mechanics are superior. I still like the DMC story and aesthetic better.

was never fan of DMC but I just hope there focused on RE or SF a little more. Also thanks for the PlayAsia tip ..its on its way. I have the same issue with COD4 think its cause the way they have R3 as run.

My type of game, but without online play whats the point in spending $60 for a game that will only last 12 hours max. Once I beat it I don't want to go back and play it again unless the bosses or ending is going to change...so since this wasn't an option I am saying that I will rent it from gamefly.

Uncharted was around that time slot for me. (Didn't exactly keep track though). But I mean, I still bought it and I believe it's one of the best purchases I've made and totally worth my $60 despite the lack in multiplayer and whatnot.

CoD4 was $60 bucks and that single player alone was worth the $60 lol. Then again, I guess dollar worth changes from person to person.

On another note. Biggest UPSET IN HISTORY BABY.

I'm picking it up on the 360... Devil May Cry is the greatest action game series currently.

As fate would have it my 360 broke just in time for Devil May Cry to come out so I'm pretty pissed about that. I'll just have play the old ones on the good old PS2 (and maybe some Wii) in the meantime.
