Sony wants Pirates Versus Ninjas Dodgeball on PSN
Gamecock is trying to capitalize on the popular internet meme in their upcoming XBLA game, Pirates Versus Ninjas Dodgeball. Although currently an XBLA exclusive, it looks like there's strong interest to bring the game over to the PSN. "Sony really wants this Pirates vs Ninjas game we're doing for Xbox Live and we're platform agnostic so if we're investing in a title let's give it a chance wherever there is one," Gamecock CEO Mike Wilson told GI.biz.
The PSN offers a number of unique opportunities for developers. Unique games like flOw and Everyday Shooter have managed to flourish on the PSN -- certainly, they would've floundered if released in a traditional retail space. Also, unlike XBLA, there are no size limitations on what developers can provide. "The market's not there yet but it will be and it's nice that you don't have this 150MB limitation. It will be interesting to see how it emerges as a market.

I hope so. The more developers the better.
I like how ps3 has no limitations too, lets see games.
DEVELOPERS! DEVELOPERS! DEVELOPERS!
(something not right)

Looks like some fun, I'd pick it up for $10 or so. Pirates FTW. "Do it."

"The market's not there yet but it will be..."
The market's not there yet? And what does that make us? Chopped liver?

Yoon, I always know when you're the author of a piece. You're always so pleasantly optimistic about the Sony brand, it's quite refreshing. 2008 is really the year the PS3 (in particular) will shine, and it's great that you as the editor of PS3Fanboy acknowledge the potential of the brand and system. Awesome. Write on, friend. Write on.

150MB limit... I had forgotten all about that. What a joke!

True, but honestly, most of our games don't go over that. Also, it's just for full games, demos can go over that. Why Microsoft cares if games are small but demos are big, I don't know. I'm glad the PSN doesn't have those kinds of restrictions, don't get me wrong. Let the devs throw in whatever huge textures and audio they want.
Anyone actually know the size of all the PSN games and which ones go over 150? It would be good to know. I know Warhawk is, obviously (like 800 megs), but I don't know about the rest. I think most of them were actually surprisingly small (50-80 megs-ish).
EZ_HumanAbattoir @ Feb 6th 2008 4:59PM
I dont think its 800 seeing as ALOT of the demos on the PSN are over 1000...

I want this game!! I want to kick some pirate butt-in dodgeball, of course.
