Dead Space gets the Burnout treatment for PS3 version

On a more general note, he discusses the move that will be taking place from the 360 to the PS3 as the lead platform for future projects. He says it isn't that the PS3 can't do some of the things the 360 can, but it's harder to get at those things. Since the 360 had two years as the lead platform, engineers are used to working with it. But "it's really just engineering catching up with it," he says in regards to PS3 development. Hopefully they'll get the bugs worked out in time for Dead Space, as well as anything else EA chooses to crank out this year.

EA is seriously throwing some love at SONY right now!! Its like Sony's taking EA out on a date and EA's giving it up after dinner with a lil extra on the way home!! LMAO That's awesome that people are stepping up to the plate and trying new technology! Perhaps maybe they are finally starting to see the potential of the PS3!? Who knows but I'm glad they are working harder!

TECHNICALLY 360 versions ALWAYS get gimped because of DVD9 vs. Blu-ray. If he says the PS3 is just as powerful, then why word everything as if it's SUCH THE INFERIOR. He stated it was because they don't know the 360 as well.
Should have chosen a better way to word his opinion. The digg flames will be a'burnin' today for sure.

I think it's a load of crap, out of all of the games that EA has made or produced, need me to remind you that half of PS3 library is made or produced by EA such as Need for Speed Carbon & Prostreet, NBA Live, NFL 07, 08 & Tour,Tiger Woods 07, 08, Def Jam Icon, Fight Night Round 3, Rock band, Burnout Paradise, The Orange Box, the list goes on, EA should have already perfected the craft of making games for the PS3 they're just being lazy by porting them from 360

This is bullsh*t.
He says "sort of like Burnout", but that had the PS3 as the lead platform. This is another 360 to PS3 port, so really he's just saying: "we won't f*** it up again this time, we promise!"

The point of the PS3 is to be that much better. the most powerful console in production. Why is it being led by the two year old 360? sure its easier to dev for but common if you port it then your not taking advantage of the PS3's Raw Power. So far the only game to make me say WOW was Drake's Fortune. everything else has been and will be a port over. I HOPE MGS4, FF,HAZE, LITTLE BIG PLANET will show off what my power house can do.

anyone else get the feeling that EA has FINALLY realized that there are almost 10 million PS3 owners out there?
Maybe I will buy NCAA 08 this year. Hmmm.

No actually Burnout Paradise's lead platform was the PS3 the developer was "Criterion Games" and the publisher was EA, a lot of reviews state that that superior version is the PS3
checks the wiki... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burnout_Paradise

haha im an aspiring developer so and iv done my homework so c if this makes sense to you.
theyre developing lead on ps3 becus the 360 doesnt pose any limitations so porting over to the 360 from ps3 is a piece of piss lol. where as porting over to ps3 from 360 is alot harder due to the structure. theyre listenin to consumers gettin annoyed with shit ports and theyre solving the problem. if anything it can only make things better :-)
i dont care much bout arguin about it, but what i do know is, mgs4, supposedly the best game graphically comin out on ps3 (fanboys themselves started that one), could be ported over to 360 no problem. the guy in charge said that himself. atm it is comin out of ps3 only due literally to brand loyalty reali (and mayb the big wads of cash sony r probs throwin about to keep it that way lol)
kentuckyfried @ Feb 7th 2008 6:17PM
I think that MGS4 would be possible on the 360...
...you'd just have to swap DVD-9's every 10 miniutes. puah ha ha ha.
kentuckyfried @ Feb 7th 2008 5:55PM
=D
I hope this title is awesome. I never get tired of the premise, even if it's been done half a dozen times. The key thing is, nobody's pulled it off *that* well.

Just plain laziness. Now that they had some time and that PS3 is picking up the steam the tune has completely changed. Not that i am not basking in the glory of this, as EA is a trend starter and many others will bandwagon on the "power to the PS3" train, but it is a bit overdue!
