Call of Duty 4, Motorstorm walk away with AIAS awards

PS3 fans that don't believe in multiplatform titles may be disappointed to hear that PS3 exclusives did not fare so well with the industry's equivalent of the Academy Awards. Motorstorm is the only game to take home an award, for Best Racing Game.
See a list of PS3-relevant winners, after the cut.

I still don't get what's so "Amazing" about Call of Duty 4.
Iain @ Feb 8th 2008 12:44PM
Play online or split screen.
Very solid shooter with perfect controls. It's like an updated CounterStike but with more realism and more actions (like throw grenade, hop over objects)
chasegamez @ Feb 8th 2008 1:24PM
i agree
the game is so easy
Zombie Huggles @ Feb 9th 2008 12:00AM
Call of Duty 4 was just a shooting gallery. I've never felt so...immobile while playing a FPS. Usually when I play military FPS, I try to find cover, then move-up, flank, and bottle-neck the enemy. Same in Uncharted, but in COD4, I felt like I just sat out in the open and killed 50 guys, then moved forward a "section" killed 50 more...it didn't "feel" like real warfare. It felt like an "on-rails" shooter, like Time Crisis, but without the excitement of bullet dodging.

Overall I would say that this was a triumph!
Curtis the Claw Game Master @ Feb 8th 2008 5:18PM
Overall I would say that phrase is overused.

any1 else noticed the CoD4 update? patch 1.1 (atleast in europe)...
Robert @ Feb 8th 2008 2:22PM
finally.. we on America (the continent not USA :-P) had this patch on December, and since that day i have been unable to play with my friends in Spain
Goity @ Feb 8th 2008 1:05PM
How on earth Assassin's Creed beat out Uncharted in the animation department is beyond me.
Also, Orange Box computer game of the year and cod4 console game? They were both on computer and console, so that makes no sense...
chasegamez @ Feb 8th 2008 1:27PM
because most of the voter
dont have a ps3 yet
Uncharted was overlooked
Assassin's Creed sucks
brad @ Feb 8th 2008 5:00PM
Totally agree. I own both games... assassins creed is so boring
EvilWalksWithMe @ Feb 8th 2008 5:00PM
Animation wise, assassin's creed leaps all over Uncarted. Your kidding yourself if you think otherwise.
parkd @ Feb 9th 2008 1:56AM
I don't think so...Altair's animation was so robotic. Drake was more fluid and life-like in my opinion.
Tom Brady @ Feb 8th 2008 3:40PM
COD4 was almost perfect but the Only thing i wish it had was the ability to "hug" the wall & to "peak" around the wall like on Rainbow Six Vegas. Also i wish there would have been the ability for me to issue commands to my squad like "cover me" or "move up".
Unlike many games that have the commands where you are the leader of the squad, on here you're a new recruit, but it still would be nice to have some commands. There were too many times when i was having to fight & kill everyone because my group was waiting for my player to reach a predetermined spot on the map for them to move up. When they were on the side of me they would miss there targets more than hit them especially towards the end.
I loved the epilogue! That was sweet
ryan @ Feb 8th 2008 4:08PM
agreed that those commands would've been sweet but they would have a lot of control sacrificing. i kinda like the controls now. i wish every fps played as gorgeous as this!
Urza @ Feb 10th 2008 6:09PM
You've never been the commander in the CoD series, so don't expect commands any times soon.
Tom Brady @ Feb 8th 2008 3:46PM
The game isn't that easy Chasegamez if you play it on "Hardened" or "Veteran". If you can play it on Veteran & that is TOO easy for you, then you have crazy skills & should be ranked the #1 online COD4 player. I beat the game for the 1st time on Hardened & I died several times, I lost count around 10.
ryan @ Feb 8th 2008 4:09PM
agreed veteran took me a whole week. i died plenty. i loved it. :D
The Sound @ Feb 9th 2008 10:07PM
Heh, I know the guy who's number one.
Ranus Studios @ Feb 8th 2008 5:08PM
Shame that Uncharted didn't get anything.
MIT @ Feb 8th 2008 5:44PM
Though not PS3 exclusives, BUT at least in a year where the PS3 was not expected to shine.. (only 1 year old..) all the above award winning games except BioShock are on the PS3, and we have 1 Exclusive, which is my beloved MotorStorm... So, it's basically a tie with what the X-Box offered 'Except that Orange box was a bit better on the X-Box, Thanks EA!!'.... Needless to say we had Uncharted, Ratchet ...etc. that for some weird reason didn't make it to the list....
I can't wait to see this list next year !!! MGS4, KZ2, LBP, GT5, MotorStorm 2 (I wish....)
Jason @ Feb 9th 2008 3:56AM
You must be kidding me, Uncharted's animation >>>>>> Assassin's
Actually, Uncharted beat the crap out of Assassin in every other way. The only thing that impressed me was the vast open world with bajeelion ppl in AC (Although that same 10 sentences repeating all over the city pisses me off)
Jason @ Feb 9th 2008 3:58AM
btw, FPS domination >.>
I would like to see more games from other genres other than FPS-es =x There is just too many of them out now
Ether02 @ Feb 9th 2008 4:18PM
What about uncharted, ratchet, and Heavenly sword ( personal fav game of 07 which I think deserve more props than It has received a truly underrated game in the industry).
Urza @ Feb 10th 2008 6:14PM
Heavenly Sword? Heavenly Letdown more like it. There's nothing award winning in it except for voice acting, and unlike the SpikeTV Video Game Awards... real gamers don't care.
