Buggy Lost Planet demo taken down, new demo coming soon
If you've downloaded the recent Lost Planet: Extreme Condition demo you might have had trouble getting connected to the game's online servers. It's not completely clear what the problem is, but according to the PlayStation.Blog the issues are being dealt with. The demo has been temporarily taken down from the PlayStation Network and an updated version with an actual working multiplayer mode should be coming soon.
For those of you who've downloaded the demo and have got it to work, you'll now find that the servers have also been shut down in preparation for the new demo. Isn't this all really annoying? Sure. But at least it's getting a fix. Capcom assures that it will be "working overtime to correct the issues." Let's hope we get our demo back up by the end of the weekend, otherwise we'll just have to continue playing Devil May Cry 4 instead.

Game_playa @ Feb 9th 2008 2:25AM
Ungrateful PS3Fanboy, I'm the one( with others) who mailed this story in tips. And these Retards didn't even put
"Thanks Everyone who sent this in ". This Majed Guy is getting on my nerves posting a Half-true story, you know the servers are still up and it says they are not. Learn to type correctly MR.Majed.

Yeah I had trouble with this yesterday...not sure I want to re-download it though
elephant_stone @ Feb 9th 2008 6:00AM
I managed to get one game yesterday which I thought was alright...
I thought it was because Im a UK user it was somehow "locking" me out of the servers.

i just assumed it was my shitty connection. i never got a game going. it would only show like 4 servers and even the ones with only 1 person in them would always show up full.
lucasbbadur @ Feb 9th 2008 7:19AM
I wanted a single-player demo!
BIGGEN @ Feb 9th 2008 8:00AM
trust me, the multiplayer is where this game shines. can't wait.
russell @ Feb 9th 2008 9:03AM
last night i was trying to play and i said "i thought they put up demos in an attempt to get you to want to buy the game? well this demo has already convinced me to not buy this game"
maybe i'll try it again if they fix it, doubtful though.
Shadowen @ Feb 9th 2008 10:03AM
I want a better demo. One with Single player AND multiplayer, and the multiplayer to at least let you change the time limit. I cant judge it well, I like it yet dont, its hard to decide.
Wild Pegasus @ Feb 9th 2008 10:33AM
I think the servers got abit overloaded after it was put up on the US PSN, i downloaded it from the JPN store and had no issues with it, im from the uk btw
Vincent060 @ Feb 9th 2008 11:11AM
So if we already downloaded the demo, do we have to delete this one and download again? Or are they just fixing the servers? I had a little trouble trying to find a match and waiting a long time to get one going. The few times I was able to get on was fun. Love the dummy grenades.
mathab @ Feb 9th 2008 1:42PM
Most probably you'll need to download a new one, hence the reason the demo was taken off the PSN.
Michael K. @ Feb 9th 2008 11:32AM
playing devil may cry 4? you mean people actually bought that game?
ryan @ Feb 9th 2008 12:20PM

CLupula @ Feb 9th 2008 1:43PM
why wouldn't they? the game is awesome.
xrich @ Feb 9th 2008 6:40PM
Capcom, Why do you continue to alienate ps3 gamers with old, poor ports? Do you think this is gonna bring back your ps3 fans? As a third party developer, it seems really stupid to completely blow off the ps3...
Joe @ Feb 9th 2008 1:38PM
How the hell do you let this kind of thing happen? I mean, if it was already fixed, then it obviously wasn't hard to fix, why couldn't they just do it in the first place?
The Clunge @ Feb 9th 2008 4:29PM
Just when I think Capcom can't sink any lower in my opinion, they suddenly do.
They take over a year to make a version that looks worse than the original, and can't even get a damned demo right.
kool_ade13 @ Feb 9th 2008 4:54PM
Yeah this demo sucked some hard c**k. I played maybe for about 10 min and thats it. This is not a good way to promote a game.
OAKside @ Feb 9th 2008 6:05PM
Capcom, put everyone on the payroll to work on Resident Evil 5. (Stop making questionably good games.) It's a win-win! :D
Haiddasalami @ Feb 10th 2008 10:33AM
I didnt get all the hype for this game. Scrap this and move the team to monster hunter for ps3.
Tony @ Feb 10th 2008 7:05AM
Good, because while I was always aggravated at the lack of single player demo with which to convince me, the fact that I couldn't actually join a single multiplayer game made my apathy for this title virtually complete.
Single player please...or failing that, multiplayer that works....
Alan @ Feb 12th 2008 11:19AM
I think this was way overblown.
Yes it was a little tough to get into a game early on but I've played many games on this now and I'm really enjoying it.
