It's almost comical how often
Haze has been delayed, touted as improved, set for release, then delayed once more. Over at the
Haze forums, it seems one of the men from Free Radical took the initiative to post a reply to people complaining that the game won't actually ever release. He said, basically, there have been a lot of improvements made, the game is
not like
Duke Nukem Forever and will be released very soon. Ubisoft changed their listing from May to March. So, seems like if all goes according to plan, those who've been waiting for
Haze may finally get to see it in the next month.

It damn well better be out soon.
For me, this game has gone from being top of my list - along with GT5 and LBP - to one I have written off.
Jay @ Feb 18th 2008 2:41PM
*may write off.
Incidentally, if it hasn't yet gone gold I doubt we'll see it in March.
Spoony @ Feb 18th 2008 2:43PM
If they get it out before MGS4 i'll be all over it but if it comes out near Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 it will be filed under i'll get it some day, meaning probably never.
Schoolimangooli @ Feb 18th 2008 2:48PM
I've lost interest in this game since the last delay. Sad
frankym @ Feb 18th 2008 2:51PM
I will buy this game only if it comes very very soon. I had this game as must buy and discarded with all the delays fearing it would be another Lair.
TinyTim121 @ Feb 18th 2008 4:52PM
Agreed. I had this game still pre-ordered but since last delay i stoped the pre-order.
I may buy the game if the reviews are high enough and yeah, if it dosen't clutter GTAIV, MGS4, GT5 or Killzone 2
John McPoop @ Feb 18th 2008 7:25PM
Thats my exact fear with this game. Honestly, I don't think Lair is all that bad. It certainly is not great and did not live up to all the hype. I am fearful that Haze sucks because of all the delays and in the end it is barely going to be playable. I will give it a chance and rent it but its certainly not a must buy for me anymore. I hope it is good and the story does intrigue me from what I have heard. But, with all of the fantastic PS3 titles for 2008 I can't justify a purchase for Haze unless it is completely off the chain.
Schoolimangooli @ Feb 18th 2008 2:51PM
Didn't Ubisoft try to stuff RB6 and Lost in are face, because we will have to wait for this game?
The only way I would buy this game if they some how manage remote play other than that it's off the list for me.

I'm not sure about this game. The so-called "innovative" gameplay mechanics WRT Nectar just seem like a total gimmick, and not even a good one. Second, having seen some final build (at that time) video of the game in motion (in 720p no less), I was shocked to see how bad the game actually looks. It seems like the enemy models are really low-polygon count and the collision detection and physics are sub-par.
Still hoping for the best though...
Eric @ Feb 19th 2008 12:28AM
Yeah I TOTALLY agree with you! This game isnt looking that great to me either. I hope I'm proven wrong, but I wont be buying it on day one.
Sean @ Feb 18th 2008 3:55PM
You know what will happen...
Game finally ships and has crappy sales (because of the delays and everyone saving money to buy MGS and GTA).
Crappy sales led them to finish their ports to 360 and PC, where sales pick up because the game is now in a different sales cycle.
Sony somehow gets blamed for "difficult to program for" PS3. Ubisoft gets off scott free even though their poor decisions made gamers lose interest before the game even ships.

demo
that is all i ask....tired of dumping 60bucks for crap

I preorder this one but EB games (at least here in Canada) have a very strange promotion that scares me away from this title a bit.... The deal is this - if you preorder and purchase (aka pickup) this game within a week of it's release you have the option of returning it within a week to get a full store credit. Basically... play it for a week and if you don't like it return it and get something else. I don't know what there usual return policy is but this seems like a win win situation for me... I check it out and if it doesn't fly I return it and use my store credit on one of the many other games I have pre-ordered. I don't know if this push is comming from Ubisoft or from EB games but they really want people to preorder this title. Who knows????

Confidence in Haze: High.
Reason: Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Time Splitters, Second Sight.
The team at free radical has talent, they just need to get this thing on the shelves.
OAKside @ Feb 18th 2008 8:39PM
Exactly.
Although, I do wonder if the team is still mostly the same group of people that made those greats. It's difficult to keep up with who/where the talent is in the game industry which is a shame.
kentuckyfried @ Feb 18th 2008 5:53PM
*prays that it doesn't suck*

My need to have this game was huge, although I wasnt happy with the delays I certainly wasnt pissed, however over time and other game my need to have the game has dropped. Due to time and other games im playing (cod4) and others accounced(R2!) I had completely forgotten about it until todays news.
However I must admit, knowing its closer gives me a warmer feeling inside towards it.
Im sure there are alot of fans who's interest subsided, not to say its gone, but its just needs to be brought out again.
Please Ubi and FR, do some promo's/give us news; anything to bring back the buzz it had last december.
BeaArthur @ Feb 19th 2008 7:18AM
I may be in the minority but I don't consider delays to be a bad thing. With all the delays this game has recieved it tells me that they are finding things they don't like so in order to correct the problems the game has been delayed...a lot. But what would you rather have a game that you have to wait to get; or a game that is delayed and functions properly when it comes out? Besides there are plenty of great shooters and plenty of great shooters on the horizon. It will get here when it's ready and most of you will probably be happy with the final product.
Christian @ Feb 19th 2008 2:23PM
I still got this game on pre-order. The pedigree of the team doing it is good, its been developed for the PS3 so no half-arse port, and finally the fact that you have two non-symetric teams is interesting and I am hoping that Haze will manage to pull it off. (Online mode could easily be useless unless the two sides are equal in power even though they are different, ie the Nectar advantages are balanced out by the Nectar downsides).
