GDC08: Insomniac video hiring call hints at Resistance 2

While this new video hiring call from Insomniac Games showcases the company's kooky side, it also holds a lot of hidden messages pertaining to the upcoming PS3-exclusive Resistance 2. The video is basically a guided tour through Insomniac's Burbank office, and this happens all to the tune of a campy rock ballad.

Throughout the video, employees join in on the singing, and in their merriment, they forget that they have secret information on their computer screens. We saw two such screens; one read "twelve new Chimeran enemies" and the other had "0708". The former is quite obvious, but what does "0708" mean? A release date is highly unlikely because we know the game is due out in Autumn. The numbers could be referring to a demo date perhaps?

Of course, our speculations could be wrong. It's also possible that there are more Easter eggs hidden in the video, and we just happened to miss a key piece to the puzzle. Maybe you can find even more than we did, so go watch the video already.

Resistance 2 will be awesome, but we are forgetting about a game that has been in production since the ps3's launch. I am talking about killzone 2. That game is gonna blow people's expectations out of the water.

alright well this might be completely off but, after i googled 0708 I went to the wikipedia page of July 8th and it turns out that 07/0/1947 is the date of the Roswell incident in New Mexico, which might have to do with game because it is suppose to take place in the U.S. this time

They said in one of their podcasts that they get flooded with requests and that the best way to get in would be to get recommendations through a college or to go directly to Sony, I believe.

I know that they really want to see a reel from you but for QA, I don't know...

I think they're doing this on purpose. I mean, come on, the developers at Insomniac and Incognito really want to inform us on everything that is going on with the games but can't because Sony has to watch their backs also.

I mean, look at how Dylan Jobe hinted at Home and a new Booster (Lol, what Incognito calls expansions) for Warhawk.

i bet that it was a release date and expect us to factor in the amount of time their gonna delay it ourselves. so thats when they're really planning on releasing it but theyre saying autumn cuz its obviously gonna be delayed. all games are delayed atleast a little lol.

if someone says a release date expect 1-3 months after. unless its killzone, then expect 2+ years of delay lol.

i interviewed with Insomniac sometime before the holiday seasons, unfortunately, they didn't have any openings at the time, but final testing for Resistance 2 won't be happening for another few months anyway, so who knows.

great guys though.

and yeah, their offices are just that cool in person as they are in the video.
