Bionic Commando Rearmed will feature Remote Play
As if you needed another reason to pick up Bionic Commando: Rearmed, Stephen Totilo of MTV Multiplayer has received confirmation from a Capcom representative that the NES remake will be playable on the PSP. The game will be available from the PSN this May and will feature full remote-play capabilities. This will allow you to play the game anywhere in the world as long as you've got a wi-fi signal. Not bad eh?
Rearmed joins PixelJunk Monsters and Lair as some of the games that currently allow Remote Play. We certainly look forward to more third parties taking advantage of the system. So if you have a PS3, a PSP, a love of old school 2D platformers and are too lazy to get out of bed, you can still play Bionic Commando: Rearmed. Not bad, eh?

Nice!
another reason why this PS3 version is better. it's portability and it's *ahem* higher resolution textures..

Sweet, third party games with remote play too.

I have tried the remote-play functionalities of the PS3 and I must say, while interesting, its not really functional.
Wireless-B. I sit at a desk with my PSP less than two feet away from the PS3 and it still sputters occasionally.
The idea was cool but the reality of it is that until we get EDGE or some other much faster wireless tech built-in to our PSP3's, don't expect anything remotely like actual cohesive gameplay.

Yeah I was suprised that the ps3 only uses wireless b. The playstation's biggest flaw as far as Im concerned.
miglaugh @ Feb 25th 2008 8:17PM
I've never had an issue with it myself, and I use it practically every night to watch stuff before I fall asleep.
Maybe you guys have a lot of interference or something.
And BTW, it's 802.11 b/g, not just b. Just b would be pathetic.

If you're having lag, have you tried adjusting the streaming settings? Perhaps your inner-web-tubes are clogged or you just have too much interference.

I dont know what world you are living on but EDGE is not high speed by any means, and unless your WiFi network is connected to a 56k modem it will outperform EDGE any day of the week.
As long as you have the bandwidth available from your ISP WirelessB can provide speeds that can only be matched by 3.5G services like HSDPA.
Ive connected directly to PSP via Wifi and through the internet and have no problems with RemotePlay. Like another poster said, check you connection settings (try +768kbps option) and make sure your signal isnt poor.

I have tried PJ Monsters, really really tried to like it, but it has never worked well at all. Especially for such a fast game like bionic commando I don't see this working.
Organic_Shadow @ Feb 25th 2008 9:31PM
The slowness is the PSP's 802.11b and processor speed/disadvantage. The new models won't run at full speed with the Wifi turned on I hear.
Iain @ Feb 25th 2008 9:43PM
I had a new one.... So the fattys run smoother?

This calls for a function where I can pre-order a game on PSN and it DLs while I sleep and greets me like the Wii does, except with a good and worthwhile surprise.
AnyColourYouLike @ Feb 26th 2008 12:01AM
not bad eh'!
I've had no issues streaming music and movies and if you change some settings games play fine.. or at least ones i've tried.
Aquatopia and that other one i cant remember
