DualShock 3 dated: April 15th for $55
The rumble-ready DualShock 3 controller should be ready for US audiences on April 15th, according to a report by Kotaku. This release would coincide with the release of the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Retailers have supposedly just received this date from the Destination PlayStation meeting. The controller will cost a rather hefty $55.

Already got my DS3 controllers from Asia, but if you could also get an European date from Sony I am sure many here would appreciate it.
Livi70590 @ Feb 26th 2008 4:27PM
Agreed, you can't import them form PlayAsia into EU any more.

tantanman @ Feb 28th 2008 2:19AM

TinyTim121 @ Feb 29th 2008 4:28PM
@ tantanman
Yeah, fair point. But i doubt they'll go £40...would they?
=S
wem003 @ Feb 26th 2008 1:19PM
I'm sure that will be the date for the new bundle then too.
120gb PS3, with DS3 and GT Prologue would be sweet.
I'll pick up a second one if that happens.
True_Darknight @ Feb 26th 2008 1:19PM
Its about time!!!!!
Then again... I'm glad play-asia.com is the best site eva!!!
But I can always get the 3rd (2nd rumble) for the house!!!
I'll use the lite one for Blue-ray viewing!
Now can they make the controllers auto shut off???
Dan Davis @ Feb 26th 2008 1:52PM
All yours for the low low price of 600 bucks!
Iain @ Feb 26th 2008 1:48PM
A simple firmware update could do that.
I hate how they stay on.

Iain @ Feb 26th 2008 1:49PM
I don't even miss it. I like the lightweight controllers fine. Besides I have 5, 4 from amazon $20 a pop.
Dan Davis @ Feb 26th 2008 1:53PM
Sorry, meant to reply to the post above yours!
Eric E @ Feb 26th 2008 1:55PM
I imported too $70 total after shipping(White) for Uncharted and it was great for $10-$15 more (tax and/or shipping here should put it near $60 to get it almost 6 months early), then i played orangebox (and still TF2) and no rumble for a while until i got PJ Monsters. (also a little Metal Gear Solid PS1)
Wish i had more reasons to justify the import.
Gabba @ Feb 26th 2008 2:00PM
Thats great! But how much?
alienclays @ Feb 26th 2008 2:02PM

G-MAN74 @ Feb 26th 2008 2:04PM
I have had mine since early December.
Of course, I paid like 80 bucks for it...
JAH75157 @ Feb 26th 2008 2:16PM
w00t!
kidqwik @ Feb 26th 2008 2:16PM
Got mine off Ebay shipped from Cali with Japanese packaging. It was $60 with shipping included. Love the rumblings goin on!
mccomber @ Feb 26th 2008 2:18PM
I have to admit, I can't decide if I care or not. I honestly don't notice the rumble in the vast majority of games when I switch between the 360 to the PS3; yeah, some games use it well, but so many just toss it in there. The only title I'm think will make it worth buying is MGS4, but just because Kojima always has innovative ways of using the features available to him.
Aaron @ Feb 26th 2008 2:57PM
AWESOME! The PS3 just keeps getting better and better! :)
Brian Spence @ Feb 26th 2008 3:25PM
No reason for them to take this long. Pretty crappy. I'll get one anyway. I've never played with a rumble controller, and from the whiny kids saying that it ruined the PS3, well, I'll have to see for myself.
mayamayouidiot @ Feb 26th 2008 3:27PM
$55, eh? Hmm...I think I'll wait till it's bundled with a game I want or something, a la WiiPlay. Or I'll at least keep a close eye over at CAG, till I find it for $40 or so...hopefully.
DirtnSky @ Feb 26th 2008 5:08PM
To all you who already imported the ~shock, I have a question. Does the rumble feel like the PS2? Or is it one that the company Immersion keep bragging about called Touch Sense? Does that feel just like the old from the past, or does it feel different?
An example of what they're saying is like if your in a FPS and an RPG rocket blasts by your head, does the control rumble softly to a shake on that side alone to fade out? When you fire your weapon, does it rumble on the right alone. Your getting the point right?
If it just rumbles all around, that's Old tech and damn not worth $55 of my workings savings!
Popfrogs @ Feb 26th 2008 6:03PM
Yep, Touch Sense didn't make it into the DS3. Maybe later.
Draeconius @ Feb 26th 2008 9:04PM
i already got one, they had one at the video store near my house
soul899er @ Feb 26th 2008 9:20PM
i could buy a game with that money, screw that ill wait
John @ Feb 26th 2008 11:31PM
Yeah, that may be hefty. But I've been waiting for it, and only for GT, the only game where I feel vibration matters. Heh. "Vibration matters." (copyright ME, 2008). I can't wait to get it, and Prologue, as the 'X' on my current is rather sticky, but hey, I've always thought this whole unit was a damn bargain. No red ring of death for me! Until my friend in auto welds me a cage for a ridiculously-priced wheel and set of pedals, I'm going to feel like this new controller is a bargain.
