Metal Gear Solid 4 dated for June 12th

More release date news has leaked out the Destination PlayStation retailer conference. Metal Gear Solid 4, that other will-it-won't-it game, has finally had a release date nailed down. When the game comes out on its June 12th release date we wonder exactly how many people will be taking the day off from work to play it - we certainly will be!

We're hoping this date is correct (we're looking to confirm it with Konami). Kojima promised a simultaneous worldwide release for the game. Could this be the date everyone can pin on their calendars?

of course there will be a collector's edition. when isn't there nowadays? It will come with a pack of snake's brand of smokes and stealth underwear. too much money from all the fanboys not to make a collector's edition

damn, i was really hoping it'd be this fall when i plan to buy a PS3...

well, it's great to know it's coming so people can play it finally, but i fear i'll wait a month or so till i finish off Ninja Gaiden 2.

*FINALLY* The excitement of this game was wearing off, waiting so long in anticipation.

Hopefully it is confirmed this week by Ryan on Thursday.

A simultaneous release date is huge. They will be pulling this off during a time when everything is boring and nothing new is releasing on Xbox. The excitement of this will carry over into fall, and still be around for holiday, when soccer moms will not be denying their kids anything. Absolutely brilliant.
