The
PAIN content continues this week with another new character to lob around your virtual city. Unfortunately, there's no sign of any new levels for the game so chances are this new character won't add too much new gameplay for you for the time being. Still, for less than a dollar it's worth a punt. Here's the full release list:

This is a good day for fans of rhythm games. Both
Rock Band and
Guitar Hero III have a worthwhile download pack going for them. The
Guitar Hero pack is almost a dollar more expensive, but we'll forgive them that this week simply because we quite like "Don't Speak" by No Doubt. Sports fans have a few interesting videos to grab and trekkies can get their hands on a HD version of the Star Trek movie teaser trailer. Not a bad haul, overall.

This must be some kind of sick joke. We get the weekly Rock Band update and the occasional Guitar Hero pack, both things not mandated by Sony at all. Let's see what Sony gave us on their own volition? A handful of videos and an expansion character for a game that really is not even that good. Where are the demos? More specifically, where is the Hot Shots Golf demo? It's on the Euro store right now in complete English, but Sony would rather keep the US store in the dark this week by holding it for a later date. XBOX live has had a Turning Point demo for about a week now, where's ours?
Where are the PS1 games? That too, in itself is a joke, since they're running out of Jet Moto and Crash games to give us. Just a handful of videos is inexcusable. PSN is still a joke even after a year of the system's release. When your competitor is dedicated to releasing one arcade game a week (regardless of quality), what do you offer in retaliation?
This is just one big joke.

I hereby decree that Rock Band and GHIII (I'm sick of hearing about both of them) DLC no longer be listed as part of the weekly updates. Give those overrated games their own seperate sections on the PSN and get back to having some decent demos/games on the regular Thursday update.

Where exactly in my post did I say I didn't like either game? I played both and had fun. That doesn't mean they aren't overrated or over-exposed. I was simply saying that the song updates shouldn't be included in the PSN weekly updates. They should be handled in a seperate section or directly by Harmonix/Activision as not to pad the weekly updates. Why would it be such a bad thing to have a Weekly store update with demos/full games/videos and then have a seperate DLC update?

Yeah RB and GH stuff is cool if your into that. But I agree with others that say not having at least one PS1 game per week is inexcuseable. Additionally, on really crappy weeks they should give us like 5 or 6 from different genres so everyone can STFU.

Horrible...AGAIN!!! I have all 3 systems, at least I can count on 360 and Wii bringing me new/classic games every week not 1-4 trailers of movies and other BS, christ!!!! get your crap together sony! The only time I fire up my system is to play Stardust which is starting to get old, and watch blurays. Give me more original arcade content. You have had LONG enough to get it together. This is just sorry....

Sony should just quit updating weekly but only when they get something new, there will be people whining every week when they don't get what they want. They forget that a year has 52 weeks and the PS3 willl have to be interesting for a minimum of 5 years. If they'd release all the content in 1.5 years than people will have nothing to look forward to anymore.
Maybe it's the lower average age of the console gamer these days. But I've never seen a bigger bunch of whining babies. They act like they have the right to a huge amount of content each week. Preferably several demos as well. Wake up!
