For those of you who remember, a game came out on PS2 that centered on the Roman Gladiators. Sure, there was a period where that kind of stuff was the hot thing, but this LucasArts title took a different approach to what was considered an "easy to make" action bloodbath title. We're referring to
Gladius, the train-your-gladiator RPG that was a cult success -- that game might be getting a sequel.
Listed on one of the
artist's website is a bunch of current titles in the works along with
Gladius 2 -- something that hasn't been announced yet. So, take it however you want, but it's kind of hard not to imagine a fairly successful game not getting a sequel. It's the new hot thing, after all.

Be interesting to see how this pans out. Cool.

This is one rumor I would love to be true. Sadly, although Gladius was a pretty amazing game back in the day, it sold so poorly I doubt LucasArts would make a sequel. Most likely, this guy was contracted to do concept work for Gladius 2 shortly after Gladius 1 shipped, and that was probably as far as the project went.

It took a while to grow on me but I really enjoyed the game. I'd play a PS3 version.

i had some problems with getting into the game but i did recognize its quality. And eventually i did put some time in it. However if this would be a PS3 exclusive and they would really put time and effort to use as much of PS3 power to make a rock solid, in-depth RPG i'd probably be up for another run, so i guess this is pretty good news!

The original Gladius was an overlooked gem. My wife has probably put 200 hours into that game.
