Rumor: Patapon Spin-off?

Patapon has barely just been released in the west and already we're hearing rumblings of a sequel or a spin-off. Hey, we're not complaining; we're just a little surprised. It would be nice to have another Patapon game, little eye people and all.

I've been playing Papaton all morning. I'm loving it so far--can't beat the value for the money. I'm liking it better than LocoRoco, actually.
Speaking of which, maybe they're talking about something like that LocoRoco spin-off for the PS3...

that would be awesome. it's a great game. what would be fantastic is if the sequel read the previous game and could use your army, or something like that. w00tsauce, that'd be cool.

$5 says it has all the patapons renting an apartment together in New York City, with the other tribes as neighbors. You have to use the drums to help them do things around the house, like cook breakfast and clean up, occasionally competing with their neighbors to try to throw wilder and wilder parties.

great game. I've got about 12 hours in the game already. Just that sometimes its really vague on what you are suppose to do or where to find the new dances and songs to power up your troops. But sides that I love it.

Ohhh man, why such mayhem over this game, I mean ok I don't like it and thats no big deal, I don't need to say anything, but I don't understand the hype, I really don't think it's THAT great.

I was excited for it.
I think the reason why though is becuase a new different kind of PSP game hasn't come out forever. Everything has been done already. Patapon is a new concept. It is addicting though.

Wow, that was quick. I just got my copy and haven't started playing it and already theres a sequel.
As much as I would run out and get it, they need to slow down a bit. My backlog of games is getting ridiculous.

Really? is there a lot of hype?
not a single one of my hardcore-gamer friends even knew what this game was when I said I bought it.
I would say it's a very obscure title that got good reviews and now a small group of people are really into it. much like okami or locoroco or katamari.

The devs of Patapon have spoken about a sequel on the PSBlog.
"Its truly been a great ride working on it and with anyluck, maybe we’ll meet again on Patapon 2: The Zigotons Strike Back! "
"As for Patapon 2, I really HOPE there will be one. No official word yet, but “with any luck” and with the great support you all are giving now, we might see these little guys come marching back."
It's nothing concrete but at leats it's been spoken about the day of it's release! I am sure there will be a sequel.

It could be like add ons for the game like an expansion pack? what you think about it, it could be great an expansion addons or a sequal?

I wouldn't doubt it. The concept is actually brilliant, I bought my copy yesterday and played it all night/morning. It's addicting. Once everyone beats Patapon they will want more.
