Rumor: White PS3s shipped, due out possibly in March

Apparently, Circuit City employee's have been talking about receiving some mysterious shipments of late. These shipments are meant to replace the SpiderMan 3 bundle PS3 and come with the serial number "CECHH01". If you frequent Kotaku, you may recall they deduced this serial number was for the new White PS3. So, when those old bundles sell out or a certain date rolls around, expect the new color to hit shelves at $399. Now you can have two different color PS3's to create a sort of console nirvana in your house. Feng-shui, or something.

I think the metal gear or the GT bundle should have a white console with a bigger HDD than 80GBs. Oh well. If this IS true, they will sell regardless.

don't want a white one same reason why i didn't want a white 360. black is certainly beautiful...

a white metal gear bundle?? are you serious?? and i suppose you want some pink trimmings with that?

if the white one attracts dust like the piano black one does, it will look terribly dirty very quickly.

not sure what the wii looks like but if this is true i hope it isnt like the cheap plastic 360 white. and more of a shiny smooth.

Iam just happy that SCEA is getting a different color. it only took the ps2 6+ years to get a silver or white suite. Finally something is being done about ridiculous wait times. Compared to Japan we are lightyears behind on everything. we still havent seen a damn Go! cam for the psp. and gps is just now being announced. wow only two years later.

hey its a start. while i am happy with my piano black PS3 its nice to know we have an option. now if only they will let out the deep red PS3. i could always use an extra blu ray player in the bed room.

This is cool and all, but i hope its not replacing the black unit, just coexisting with it. At bestbuy i have noticed that on the shelves there is the black 40GB PS3, but it no longer comes with Spiderman 3. I assume the the PS3 bundle w/ spiderman 3 was a limited time thing.

I kinda wish you could change the look of your PS3 like how 360 lets you change your faceplate and body work (I think anyway...don't own a 360)

Anywho, the white PS3 dosen't look as stylish in my oppinion, but still looks pretty ace!

PS3F Should do a review of it, see any differences between white 40gb and black 40gb. Or 80gb...or whatever

Yeah a crimson red PS3 would look awesome! They should re-make those!
