Worldwide PS3 releases for the week of March 2nd

US Games EU Games
- Army of Two
- MX vs ATV: Untamed
- Dynasty Warriors 6 (Review)
- Blacksite Area 51
- Soldier of Fortune: Payback (Review)
- Battle for the Pacific (History Channel)
It's nice to see Army of Two clamber out from its hiding place. It was originally penned for a late 2007 release, but after EA saw how many games were coming out around that period they pulled it back. Probably a good decision, really, considering how it now has March pretty much to itself - especially in America. Yakuza 3 promises to be a big hit in Japan, especially with the Yakuza 3 PS3 bundle going on sale. We should see a slight upturn in PS3 sales.
Don't forget your PS3 is region free, so feel free to buy yourself any of the games you see in the list above. Release dates are subject to constant flux (which is why you see Blacksite: Area 51 up there, even though we said it would be out last week), so be sure to call ahead before you leave the house. Fresh air is bad for you.

Army of 2 isn't the biggest US release this week, it's MLB 08. It's the first true Sports game optimized for the PS3.
AshStampede @ Mar 2nd 2008 8:40AM
agreed, going to have to import it but i think army of two will stink of bland shooter and/or dumb team mate AI.
ICON[o]clast @ Mar 2nd 2008 5:22PM
AMERICAAA...FUCK YEA!!! MLB 08, you shall be mines! >_
Christian @ Mar 2nd 2008 8:50AM
PS3Fanboy could you please qualify the region freeness of the PS3 when you recommend people to import. I have imported myself a few times and it has worked out well, but especially for games where there will be for-pay DLC then importing games is a solution riddled with issues for instance. So for offline games with little or no chance of DLC then importing is a great option. I bought Rachet and Clank and most recently DMC4 from the US due to the better price, but I do strongly recommend for people to google about a bit before getting any online titles or especially things like Rockband to make sure there are not unforseen issues.

Novice question: what does DLC stand for ? I guess it has to deal with online mode.
Justin @ Mar 2nd 2008 10:03AM
@ Laurent:
It means "DownLoadable Content"
kmonei @ Mar 2nd 2008 10:02AM
DLC = Downloadable Content
I don't think I'll be getting many new games anymore. I'm canceling my gamefly membership soon :(
doc j @ Mar 2nd 2008 12:49PM
sorry to hear that. any reason why?
OAKside @ Mar 2nd 2008 10:37PM
I'd go with: Shipping turnaround (horrendously slow) and game availability (or lack thereof). Heard great things about their Keep It feature, though. Uncharted, here I come...
Galley @ Mar 2nd 2008 10:33AM
MLB 08 will rule them all!
Joe @ Mar 2nd 2008 10:37AM
Is Army of Two any good? I've heard mixed reviews for it...
Schoolimangooli @ Mar 2nd 2008 11:43AM
Army of Poo just kidding.
I'm on the fence with that one, I will prob give it a rental first and I would like to know if it's online co op.
Popfrogs @ Mar 3rd 2008 9:21AM
Any game that gets hyped then buried makes me wonder. We haven't heard anything or seen anything about this game for months. I smell another unfinished turd from EA.
Thoas @ Mar 2nd 2008 12:02PM
Yawn. Boring releases again.
xPAULIEx @ Mar 2nd 2008 12:30PM
Yawn...you're boring...just kidding, but not really...Can't wait for MLB 08 The Show...I've been playing the demo a couple times a day.

Sony's MLB franchise is their only worthy sports franchise.
I really like how they brought back the hitting oval. I hated the baseball games where you just worried about timing and didn't have to aim your bat. I also have a bit of experience with the batting oval, as I still play Major League Baseball: World Series on my Xbox.
For all the canucks out there that like baseball sims(all 10 of us) you can get it for $50 bucks at Futureshop until March.6

Anyone Know if army of two is gonna be any good?
Looked promising a while ago but I haven't really kept up with it since.
bugatti23007 @ Mar 3rd 2008 12:07AM
I heard that Army of Two got trashed by some gaming website last year can't remember which one and they sounded like they hated it as much as Kane and Lynch.Jem can't be serious when he says Army of Two has March all to themselves.I think the real reason for EA to delay the game was because of that strong hatred to their game and they should have made this game come out last month or February not now when people are saving up their money for MLB 08 The Show,R6V2,Condemned,& Dark Sector.
bugatti23007 @ Mar 3rd 2008 12:09AM
*correction I mean January or February
gqgooner @ Mar 5th 2008 6:58AM
