European PSN updates for March 6th

After last week's awful PSN update we were really hoping Sony would deliver us some decent content this time around. Have they? That's up to you to decide. Between the long-awaited release of the flOw expansion pack, a new set of Guitar Hero III tracks and the gorgeous WipEout HD trailer, there's some not bad stuff to choose from. Here's the full release list:
- flOw expansion pack (£1.99/€2.99)
- Guitar Hero III "No Doubt" track pack (£3.99/€5.99)
- Oblivion: Shivering Isles trailer (free)
- WipEout HD trailer (free)
- Uncharted "DJ Shadow" trailer (free)
- Graffiti theme (free)
- The Pursuit of Happyness Blu-Ray trailer (free)
- Reign Over Me Blu-Ray trailer (free)
- Perfect Stranger Blu-Ray trailer (free)
[Thanks Simon]

wipeout trailer!!!
Majik @ Mar 6th 2008 11:50AM
Regarding the Shivering Isles trailer, does that mean they're planning on releasing the expansion on the Euro store anytime soon?

Your right when you say it's an improvement, but let's be fair, anything would've been better than last week !
When I first heard of PAIN I was quite excited, but that was last year !, the novelty has worn off and the fact USA has had it for months now kinda irritates me. I know I could create an US account, but why should I have to !
Let's keep hoping that it will change, but I would'nt suggest holding your breath.....!
kevin @ Mar 6th 2008 12:05PM
dude its easy just make an usa account i have an eu account and an asian account but i have no idea what it says ha but the porsuit of happiness trailer?? that movie is OLD!!!
PS3Lee @ Mar 6th 2008 12:14PM
@Kevin
I know it's easy, but I don't see why I should have to.
Games should be released worldwide at the same time regardless of language, laws, licences etc. All they have to do is wait until all the conversions etc are finished then release them.
That way no-one feels left out or second-rate.
kevin @ Mar 6th 2008 12:50PM
true and eu is massive way bigger than usa so i dont know why they are leaving you guys out its just so wrong.
kevin @ Mar 6th 2008 12:05PM
im going to download the graffiti theme though!!

I don't understand the way Sony operates the PSN:
Europe is where the PS3 does best (we are comparing to America before anyone starts with the 'what about Japan' comments).
Europe is larger than America (when all countries are combined); more PS3s are sold here; PS3 games sell in larger volumes as a result, etc. etc. Yet we still get crappy support from PSN, games come out later here, they are more expensive (even though out £ is worth more than the $) and Sony acts like we don't feature in their market strategy...
Talk about alienating you loyal customer base. Why do we put up with it?
Mind you, it’s the same with Microsoft and the 360. What can you do eh? Sadly, nothing at all by the look of it… But this PSN deal is really getting me down.
Is it just me?
kevin @ Mar 6th 2008 12:19PM
i totally understand what your saying sony is letting us down HERE in usa too which is horrible i mean couldnt they come up with in game xmb since the beggining or dualshock 3!! even wii has vibration features...another thing is HOME oh my god its taking longer than making a bloody game. sony is really disappointing me and our next update is in summer(may-augost)they just let me down real bad.
PS3Lee @ Mar 6th 2008 12:20PM
No, it's not just you.
We wait longer, we pay more, yet we still buy their stuff because there is nothing we can do about it, as Sony Europe just don't seem/want to listen.
russ @ Mar 6th 2008 12:23PM

So far, the EU store does not yet have:
Puzzle Fighter HD (November 2007 released in the US. Originally promised a global release)
Cash Guns Chaos (October 2006 released in the US)
Every week the EU falls further behind. We just want to play the newest games, Sony, that's why we bought our PS3s.
Dahk @ Mar 6th 2008 1:08PM
Lol although... you really don't want Cash Guns Chaos anyway =P. It was a mildly fun game, but that music/voice blarring is gonna blow some speakers once you scroll over that icon.
Puzzle Fighter's pretty addicting though =P.

yet another Krap on the faces of our brothers across the pond. Where the frak is HVB? This is rediculous SCEE.
abominablecookie @ Mar 6th 2008 12:31PM
still shite!!!! where the fuk is pain? i no its coming this month but what would have stopped them from releasing it at the same time as the us got it. its not like they have shipping problems. just another example of game companies screwing over europe. a fucking gain! rant over!!!
flynn110 @ Mar 6th 2008 12:31PM
oh wow!!!!! another completely shitty PSN update!!! more trailers!!! awesome!!! (sarcasm)
imaballa @ Mar 6th 2008 12:30PM
Chill everyone! APril will be the month of PSN!!!
They are just gearing up to organize their stuff for the new Store.
kevin @ Mar 6th 2008 12:31PM
well yeah i also bought the ps3 for gta 4 ironicly a week after i buy it they delay it because they didnt make a commercial...and for all the eu users MAKE AN US ACCOUNT TO DOWNLOAD ALL THAT STUFF YOU WANT we dont have that everbodys golf demo or w.e so i made an eu account and boom i downloaded it,simple as that.
mint400 @ Mar 6th 2008 12:40PM
downloading demos with a fake account is no problem at all... BUT for $$ DLC one would need an american credit card afaik.
kevin @ Mar 6th 2008 12:45PM
no i use my usa credit card to download from the eu store visa is worldwide dude and so is mastercard,if you have those that is
Imbro @ Mar 6th 2008 2:41PM
You can buy EU stuff from a US card? This is outrageous! I have a visa card, but they won't accept it in the US store.
Brodie-san @ Mar 6th 2008 1:52PM
I have to admit that as much as I extol the virtues of PS3 and Sony in general the offerings (and UI) on the European PSN is borderline abusive.
And to answer the question above about why us Europeans are getting beaten with the crap/late content stick: you don't have to placate the market where you are strongest. You have to lavish electronic baubles and trinkets on the market where you're the weakest - and that's currently the U.S.
Just change the UI for crying outloud. It looks like my 3rd year college project (and that sucked too before you ask).
Tranando @ Mar 6th 2008 3:59PM
Japan: Echochrome
USA: Rocketmen
EUROPE: Disappointment (again)
Seriously Sony, what the fuck are you playing at???
kevin @ Mar 7th 2008 4:49AM
rocketmen sucked!!!! dont worry about it,just get an us account and quit bitchin
