Yet another PSP phone patent surfaces
The PSP Phone is quite the legend in this neck of the woods. It's no secret that Sony Ericsson wants to create a hybrid phone/gaming device. The number of murmurs heard throughout the web attest to that fact. However, it looks like the company has created failed attempt after another, as patents slowly become unearthed. Unwired View happend to stumble upon another. This design reminds us of what the PSP would look like if it had kids with the Game Boy Micro.
Will the PSP Phone ever become reality? Chances are, yes. The real question is: when?

Meh? Did you actually click through and read the description of the pattent?
This thing is basically an iPhone style device with the addition of haptic vibration sensations so you actually get tactile feedback when you press a "button." If it works as concieved, you tilt the phone and it automatically becomes a PS3, and when you mash the buttons the screen give you some sensation similar to buttons being mashed.
If it works, this could revolutionize the industry and make cause proponenets of the DSs little touch screen to finally shut their mouths. But if it feels like you have a PS2 rumblepack and you're just mashing against a smooth screen and cant tell what you're pressing, well, it'll be a laughingstock. Either way, it'll be anything be "meh.'

oops. I guess that should be "it becomes a PSP" not a "PS3."
maverick_saturn_626 @ Mar 7th 2008 8:29AM
Not a PS3? Forget it then, thought it would finally allow me to play PS3 games.

I concur. meh.
Phones are good tiny. PSP is better when it's a little bigger than a phone. What if I'm just going out to a club? I wouldn't want to carry a PSP with me. I just want a tiny phone. and I wouldn't want a smaller PSP because I like the screensize. keep them seperate.

would it really be that hard for them to put another nub on? really...
EdgeOne @ Mar 8th 2008 9:22AM
Does it play Blu Ray?
But seriously, my phone works just fine. How about a PSP with dual analog and video out instead?
