The Poll Police are technically on leave this week, as there is a break in the spring for their studying activities, but they still feel obligated to interrogate you, regardless of your schedule. Not much happened in this week worthy to gauge reactions or expectations news-wise, so we're going to take this opportunity to see how we can better serve you. We posted
some metareviews this week, something we hadn't done for several months, and we'd like to know if you'd prefer we did that for games we can't get around to review ourselves. More or less if you would rather have something to read about a game, even if it's just a compilation of early review scores.
We enjoy writing them, but don't think about what we'd want you to answer. What's important is if you find metareviews worth your time to look at when a game is released, but we didn't have the time to review it ourselves. That's it for that. Check out
last week's poll for the unsurprising, but humorous, result after the jump.

Maybe the Poll Police were tired when they wrote it. Maybe people didn't feel like reading the actual question being posed. Either way, the poll was certainly unclear -- we asked what game, given a release date for
that week, piqued your interest the most. A lot of them weren't large titles, save for one that easily stood out from the rest. It's no surprise, really. But when the poll sucks, the results can't be much better. What's the saying? Robots can only be programmed to be as smart as humans? Whatever the case, we'll be back next week. Thanks for voting!

Occasionally posting the metareview should do the trick. Maybe for small games that are actually really good like Crush. I missed Crush and found it totally awesome.

I think you should metareview the titles could be a worthwhile pickup but haven't gotten a lot of publicity. Obviously doing a metareview on an extremely popular game, like MGS4, wouldn't help out a whole lot. But on games that haven't gotten too much attention and are sneaking in under the radar, they're definitely worthy of a metareview.

Sure, but can you not make me click a link to read the actual scores? Because I'm usually too lazy for that.

Yeah, it's definitely worth it on smaller titles that aren't quite worth a ps3fanboy review. I think you should pick the highest score, lowest score and maybe one or two others from a list of "reputable" (whatever that means these days...) reviewers just to get a nice spread of what's being said. I like to read the highs and lows on metacritic since they always bring up different points, both good and bad. Getting a group of scores from the same range just gets too vanilla in what's talked about most of the time.

I say metareviews are posted after the break for the announcements of new games for the week! If they're special enough, they can get their own post.

Metareviews are okay - good for games that are too crappy/buggy/bad-porting/obscure for the guys at PS3FB to rate... like sports or girls... O_o ...Not that I'm trying to be cheeky, but... o_o ...okay, so I am trying to be cheeky! =P
About last week's poll: Nick, I thought something was up with the Poll Police!... suppose those weekend binges does the trick! =D I'm actually surprised that Haze got 10%! After all the bitching I've been hearing around here, I thought I was the only one still interested in this!

Are there really that many games to review? Call me cynical but it seems that every week the worldwide PS3 releases post has around 5 games. Metareviews are Joystiq's job because they cover all platforms. The PS3 releases are at a trickle so I don't see why they can't all get a review, regardless how bad the game is.

As long as there is emphasis on pros versus cons, it wouldn't be a terrible idea. The superficial need to apply some random moron number to one's enjoyment of a game is ridiculous to me; it either sucks, it's niche, it's a rental, or it warrants a purchase.
