Today, we celebrate OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY!
*wooooo, cheers and applause*
*crazy soldier with a frickin' mighty salute*
Most quotable movie I think I know. That and maybe Pirates of the Caribbean (the first).

Yes I agree it's a good movie. Although I am almost certain I've seen it on blu-Ray a few weeks ago in FutureShop.

I am going to buy NCFOM w/o even have seen it. I heard it's THAT good.

It is ultra-awesome! XD

Fantastic. And FamilyVideo sent mine out last week. Win/win/win (great price)!

"I've got to get me one of these!"

Wow, a lot of movies I actually like. Anyone else watch any of the Appleseed trilogy?
chris.westermann @ Mar 10th 2008 12:13PM
"might" look better. So far most old movies brought to Blu-ray look like crap. I am not impressed with the way Hollywood is treating Blu-ray, like they spend $1.50 upconverting old VHS/DVD movies to HD and then turn around and charge $35 for it. I refuse to buy any old favourite on Blu-ray unless it has "remastered for HD" in the title meaning they tool the original film and scanned it in high resolution for HD rather then just taking the DVD source and upconverting on a Mac somewhere.

Agreed...I own Terminator and T2 on blu-ray. Both are pretty meh if you ask me.
jq71586 @ Mar 10th 2008 2:44PM
If the master is in poor shape there isn't much you can do. All these movies aren't going to look like the Pirates trilogy or Cars. The Terminator and T2 look the best they ever have.
I didn't buy T2 (I rented it) because they will probably try a re-master or a collector's edition or something.
I'll be purchasing NCFOM tomorrow with a $10 off coupon, and Independence day shipped today. I may pick up I, Robot. I didn't the movie was the greatest, but Fox does very good video and top of the line audio transfers.
Hitman and Dan are rentals.

"Dan in Real Life" was one of the best movies to come out last year, certainly the best comedy to come out by far! It's enjoyable by a wide range of viewers, and that's what makes it so awesome.

@ Dan Davis.
You're going to have to make the call. I can't make it for you. It wouldn't be fair.
;)

OK, amazon can have another 2for1 sale anytime they feel like it...
Jove @ Mar 10th 2008 9:39PM
independence day wasnt a will smith block buster...
OAKside @ Mar 11th 2008 12:30AM
Erm... Will Smith + popular, successful film = "Will Smith blockbuster." Works for me. ID was cool (typical big-budget stupefied action flick) but I never got around to "I, Robot" even on the tele.
Jove @ Mar 11th 2008 12:56PM
i robot sucks dude. the special effects may prove entertaining but its the same old story of the rebel robots taking over and that one or 2 humans freeing us mankind. nothing special really... but im sure it looks awesome in hi def tho the cgi
Jove @ Mar 10th 2008 9:39PM
well now that he's famous yeah...
Kxpuc @ Mar 11th 2008 2:14AM
