GT5 Prologue priced and dated for Europe

A hardware bundle will also be released at the same time containing a 40GB PS3, SIXAXIS controller and a copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for £299 or €399. Expect this price to be dropped slightly by retailers. The European release of the game will feature all the extras found in the American version, including split-screen multiplayer. Considering the amount of content in the game, not to mention features such as Gran Turismo TV and Gran Turismo Museum, this will be a must-buy bargain for any fan of racing games.

Well done for comparing GT to a glorified crash simulator.

I think i'll actually get it. I've never played a GT game b4 but it's supposed to be some kind of a big deal. Same thing for FFXIII never played a game in the franchise.

£299 or £399. I'd rather pay £299 for it than the more expensive price. Typo?
Also, don't you think it's strange that the hard-copy on blu-ray is the same price as the downloadable version? I know which one I'll be getting anyway!

I presume you're saying you'll get the Blu-Ray version, and for this game, I definitely agree, since the full version will be out later, being able to eBay/Gamestop the old copy definitely makes it worth it. Normally I like downloaded version because they don't require disk swapping and might have faster load times, but if another version will be out a while after (anyone know how long until the full game?), it's worth it to buy the Blu and sell it later.

Pounds and euros - should have gone to Specsavers.... ;O)

Yes, I'm getting the blu-ray version because I like to have the box and the manual for it. I thought it was a no-brainer to get the blu-ray version. However, as you point out, you get faster loading with the download version, plus you always have it on the console and don't have to get out of your seat to change disks.

I have owned the Jap version for the last couple months and am totally going to buy the US version. This game with a wheel H pattern shifter is amazing.

It's £17.99 most places. I didn't want to risk getting Burnout so will get this instead.
Warhawk had a download and disc release. They gave a bluetooth headset for the hard copy and charged £10 extra.

the reason it is the same price on disc as PSN is unfair (as usual) to the consumer. Sony price the PSN version equally to disk To Appease retailers such as game-gamestation mega monopoly. the PSN version should be cheaper but your oppressive price fixing robbing overlords game-gamestation would be displeased. thus the consumer gets screwed as per usual.
whoelse @ Mar 11th 2008 1:29PM
Im getting it :)
£17.99 on amazon!

Any news on the new Steering Wheel PS3FanBoy??? I want the whoile experience!
Imbro @ Mar 11th 2008 4:13PM
The prologue is essentially a hyped and slightly longer than usual demo of the true GT5 right? Why are you people buying a demo for such prices?
