What ever happened to Tiki Games?
Remember Tiki Games? They're the guys that were working on an independent PSP title called Galaxy's End, a very solid RTS game we were able to test at last year's GDC. Our coverage on PSP Fanboy netted the development team a lot of prospects, but ultimately the team wasn't able to secure a publisher for Galaxy's End. Instead, the team moved on to their next project: a PS3 title that we hinted at many months ago (rather obscurely, in the comments section).
NovaStrike is hitting the PS3 as a downloadable title. Nodding its hat to retro gaming, this shooter looks like a very energetic addition to the PSN. We're hoping it does well, because we know the guys at Tiki are dying to make some PSP titles. If NovaStrike gets the attention we hope it does, Tiki might be able to get Galaxy's End into our hands afterall.

I hope it works out well - I was really pulling for that one!

Good to hear they are still around. I was wondering what had happened to them. They should just port it to PSN, since even if they do find a publisher, no one really buys PSP games these days.

rofl... yeah.
Buying PSP games is soooo 90's!
I sometimes wonder what kind of crack some blog-comment-posters smoke.

So they've given up on getting Galaxy's End published? Aww! Hey, on the plus side, I'm satisfied to see the similar visuals in NovaStrike and Galaxy's End. Green, dirt-y, tropical. Cool. Make more, Tiki!

They could put Galaxy's End on the PSN for both the PS3 and PSP. They don't need a publisher for that. Someone should mention it to them. They only need the approval from Sony's QC department.

I think they already know that, Jason. The problem with GE is, RTS games historically sell horribly on anything but a PC, hence why the publishers were wary of the title. By making this shump, they are hoping to establish a reputation that will attract attention of publishers for future titles. Publishers know shumps(Everyday shooter, and the one that ) tend to do well on these downloadable channels(PSN, XBLA, and WiiWare). If the title succeeds commercially or critically, then the publishers will warm up to taking a gambit(I always wanted to used that word) on riskier titles.

To merc25:
PS3 has keyboard and mouse support. Im suprised no RTS game developer has taken advantage of this.

THAT's where I heard of Tiki games before. Here. Galaxy's End.
Well, here's hoping it goes well and they get to make a downloadable PSN version of GE for the PSP :)
