MotorStorm 2 officially unveiled alongside teaser video [UPDATE]
Other qualms from the first game have been resolved, such as split-screen play which will be included in MotorStorm 2 and will support up to 4 players on a single screen. A new vehicle type, the Monster Truck, will also be a part of the sequel. With levels that incorporate mud, tangled vines and lava pools, we can't wait to see the game in action. Until then, there's just the above video available to whet our appetites.
[UPDATE] This trailer deserves to be watched in its true Hi-Def glory and GameTrailers have you covered. Enjoy!

Would you think less of me if I told you I just ruined my pants?
Byron517 @ Mar 12th 2008 2:35PM
No Kung Fu I wouldn't.... *Stares in amazment and hands Kung fu toliet paper*
SQUIRTFORCE @ Mar 12th 2008 2:33PM
That looks pretty super. Hopefully they get the load times a bit under control.

They claim it to be CG, but I doubt it this time around, it doesn't look half as real as the CG clip shown for the original Motostorm. I think by now they would have learn thier lesson. Obviously its not gameplay, but we'll have to see what happens.
Other then that, it looks 100% incredible as thought, I'm hyper excited for its release :) I hope theres more danger this time round though, put some lakes, rivers and unstable wooden bridges. Oh and make the tracks as dynamic as the clip shows, I wanna wreck buildings to slow people down around me :) Rollcage did it, and nobody has done the same since.
Dahk @ Mar 12th 2008 2:49PM
I'm pretty sure that's CG. Those shading effects, and the environment/destruction effects are damn hard to pull off like that and yeah, its definitely not gameplay lol.
Then again, that's probably what I said about MGS4 and KZ2.
Mein Bratwurst @ Mar 12th 2008 3:09PM
It's definitely pre-rendered, but so was MS1's trailer and it (the final product) came damn close to meeting it. Anyway, still looking foward to what should be an awesome game.
erico316 @ Mar 12th 2008 2:42PM
i will buy this game first day and i know most of my freinds who own a ps3 are motorstorm fans about 8 freinds out of 12 that own a ps3 want this game
Neptune @ Mar 12th 2008 2:42PM
I like the change of area. I think they can make some interesting race tracks on that island.
finelicker @ Mar 12th 2008 2:49PM
F ' YEAH, I loved the pendulum track in the first one, now they use another one. Day 1 purchase for sure.
russell @ Mar 12th 2008 3:02PM
can't expect much without seeing any game play. teasers for the lose.
Maverick Saturn @ Mar 12th 2008 3:22PM
Do you need gameplay pics? Once they tell you theres better load times, destructable environments, in game custom music, split screen modes etc, all you have to do is think of the current motostorm with all these enhancements, and there my friend, is your gameplay ^^
russell @ Mar 12th 2008 3:43PM
yeah i could read all that, but besides that there are the visuals in the new game... so all this teaser shows, is, well, nothing, except the possibility of a new environment and new car type, which are also things that i could read.
if its going to look just like the other one then why are these additions not available in patches and DLC???
phillip @ Mar 12th 2008 2:58PM
got chills yo! looks that good :)
total.wimp @ Mar 12th 2008 6:15PM
I'm a big fan of Monster Truck Madness for the PC. No, really. I've been looking for a worthy successor to it for a long time and it looks like it may have just showed up.
BTW, MTM had deserts, mountains, islands, graveyards, etc. It also had full weather effects for each. What gives with Motorstorm only giving one kind of terrain per game? I know they work hard and all on their stuff, but it's a little bit of a letdown to see "just" an island instead of a vaiety.
bowzer @ Mar 12th 2008 3:39PM
Ughhhhhh - I thought I'd never hear that Pendulum track again. Tarantula was so played out in the Drum & Bass scene by the time it got released in 2005. 3 years later doesn't make it better... :/
mezzanine @ Mar 13th 2008 11:33PM
C'mon, it's not like the drum and bass scene is all over the radio. I didn't even hear Tarantula until the other day.
FrankTheCrank @ Mar 12th 2008 3:46PM
That looks SICK!
Pre-rendered or not, the original Motorstorm is still a kick ass game that not only looks great but plays great as well. So, if this game is better than the first game, I'll be gladly handing over my credit card.
THL @ Mar 12th 2008 10:11PM
Wow, that looks immense! Seen as the wodden building collapsing is a main feature of the video then it looks to be that it will feature heavily in the game. The UK Official Playstation Mag said that they weren't allowed to say anything about gameplay, but "watch the collapsing building in the video for clues".
MCX @ Mar 12th 2008 4:17PM
Whats up is there still a party going on.... like ravers and club heads dancing around in this version? Liked the 1st one and they kept making sure to enhance through out its life cycle. Hopefully its mo betta.. this time around before it hits shelves so we don't get more content updates instead of bug fixes.
Stef Geiger @ Mar 12th 2008 4:27PM
Wow. You'd have thought they might have learned their lesson with the FIRST Motorstorm and wouldn't have released a ridiculously ambitious CG video that people will now expect to reflect actual gameplay. If that was in game footage (and there's no way in hell it was), I'll buy TWO copies of the game.
Oli @ Mar 12th 2008 5:00PM
Evolution Studios are definitely Pendulum fans
Joe @ Mar 12th 2008 4:52PM
This actually looks pretty fun
TinyTim121 @ Mar 12th 2008 5:09PM
Judgeing by just how close Motorstorm 1's teaser trailer was to matching the final game, i am more than confident that this teaser trailer is going to be what motorstorm 2 will be like.
I am so pumped up for it now *Plays pendulum*
In fact, may go and play original motorstorm...need something to take DMC4 out of the PS3 lol
TinyTim121 @ Mar 12th 2008 5:15PM

For a teaser of what they hope the final game will be, i think they came close. Not spot on i agree, but pretty close.
This teaser is just showing that the games set in jungle and hopes to acchieve new heights
I Is Me @ Mar 12th 2008 6:41PM
That really does look insane. i just finished watching with a BIG question that will make this game even sicker. Motorstorm's first had multiple cockpit views that didn't come in Motorstorm 1. if they put that in MS2 with crazy dirt and water it will be amazing.
Ranus Studios @ Mar 12th 2008 8:50PM
I'll be a lot more interested if that turns out to be real time. Otherwise, it just looks entertaining.
More to the point though, that girl at the end should probably get a more modest driving suit. Cleavage is soooo not aerodynamic.
Consolcwby @ Mar 12th 2008 11:51PM
If this is what they are aiming for (because the video is obviously CG), then I'm all in! I loved the original game, and this may actually be much more fun! Especially if the island has a volcano track! =D
Parker @ Mar 13th 2008 4:31PM
I loved the original Motorstorm and it is still one of my favorite games. Motorstorm 2 looks to have addressed most of the 'complaints' leveled against the original so I expect this one will blow me away as well. Definite must buy!
