Tekken 5: DR gets modes, rumble support in new update

Namco will soon be re-energizing the PS3 version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection with a new update coming March 18. The update is set to bring on a few changes by adding gameplay modes, DualShock 3 rumble support, and doing a little patching up of things all around.

The most notable addition to Tekken 5: DR is the Pickup Match Mode that let's players continuously fight new opponents without having to switch back to the matching room. This change will probably make the experience feel more arcade-like as there's a quicker transition from match to match. You can also change your match search settings after the brawl, just in case you want to face another type of opponent. Other tweaks call on the ability to create/display names for rooms, an added flag option for rooms which toggles certain search/fight conditions, an adjustment to the point allotment system, and match results are now unrecorded when Rank Match is set to off.

After reading all that, we bet you can't wait to fire up your PS3 and grab that update. Hold on just a sec there, you might want to sit down for this: this update is currently only for the Japanese version. Yep. We feel your anger; however, we're positive this baby will be coming our way soon. Namco probably just needs to test the waters and make sure everything is all hunky-dory before unleashing this killer patch upon the rest of the world.

I wonder how many people have this version of it. I bought T5:DR before it got the online connectivity. I don't like buying things twice.

You can buy the addon seperately as far as I know.

HUh? I play online all the time against people. So unless you log on at like 11am EST then maybe not.

And the patch is def welcomed!!!! I would love to just play Pick UP matches... Hard to get passed 1st Dan if i don't play as much!!!

Although... room names can get interesting

Can anyone clue me in on how the lag is for Tekken DR? I most likely won't purchase it, but I'm planning on getting Tekken 6 and Soul Calibur IV, so I'm curious as to how well the PSN performs with Namco's netcode.

I been meaning to get this. How are the visuals and how is it online, any lag? Are there dedicated servers? Hope so. Look out for xFenixKnightx and Paul Phoenix because I am teh mastarrrr!!! =)

Just make sure you go into a room with green bars... you should have no lag.

I hardly see any and if i do i either get out of room or quick out the offender!!!

Ahh, pickup matches, finally! There was nothing worse than going into a room and waiting 15 minutes for your turn to come up, playing once for 5 minutes, and waiting another 15 minutes... screw that. Hopefully they patch the online so it doesn't screw up so often. Seriously, the online experience was pretty buggy.
