Killzone.com gets linked to your PSN ID
Remember that game, Killzone? Yeah, apparently PS3 fans think it's some sort of "big deal." The unsurprisingly named official site of the game, Killzone.com is being updated, and will integrate with your PSN ID. The latest update states: "Killzone.com is currently undergoing important changes behind the scenes. We're joining forces with the PLAYSTATION®Network to offer you new and exciting functionality. To take full advantage of future upgrades to the website, and to preserve your current profile, please link your Killzone.com account to your PLAYSTATION®Network account."
While it's unclear what kind of enhancements are being made to the Killzone.com online experience, we're excited to see the PSN ID become more ubiquitous. SCEE also recently announced that its forums will integrate with the PSN. Clearly, we can expect something significant to happen in the coming weeks.
[Thanks, grief!]

One less account to sign-up when I use the Killzone site when the game releases. :)

Just like WipEout PulsE and www.wipeout-game.com I guess. Still, it will be far more easier to just login with your PSN ID on the Killzone boards than have to go through yet another registration process and create a username that hopefully matches your PSN ID (Which is not always the case) There could also be other features like online stat tracking, again like in WipEout PulsE. But instead of lap times it's going to count the number of kills. :D Maybe other innovative stuff too, can't wait for these features. And of course the game... ;)

I did this the other day. I wonder what Sony has in store for us. Obviously something is happening soon. I figure this is related to the PSN expansion in April

Does this mean that my PS3 Fanboy's account will at some point be integrated to PSN? ... ... ... maybe not!
But its fun to dream... :)

I've got my PSN account tied to the myresistence.net site. Thats pretty decent for seeing stats online.

Probly just the update and all the new store Releases (yeah right) from last night
Haiddasalami @ Mar 15th 2008 2:34AM
Now that you mention it, the store was a bit slow.

well they did say stuff was happening in April and April is only a little more than 2 weeks away. i wouldnt really expect much at the beginning of the month per say but if they are going to revamp stuff, they are definitely going to want to get it out well before April 29. if they release a bunch of new stuff that is glitchy right before GTAIV drops, that could be disastrous.
in the mean time, im going to head on over to Killzone.com right now and link my account.
ChodalBerryWagon @ Mar 15th 2008 2:57AM
I think that in April when there's the whole 'PlayStation Network Revolution' with the new store and features, they are going to start it off with a GIANT PSN update including the Home Beta (I really, really hope! - it's already spring, we should be expecting it).
Mein Bratwurst @ Mar 15th 2008 1:57PM
I believe Home has been in beta for quite some time now.
PSN: KillaKornbread (the shirt is a lie!) @ Mar 15th 2008 5:12PM
i think he meant public beta for everyone to try. to the best of my knowledge its limited to a small number of people.
Tranando @ Mar 15th 2008 6:04AM
I would imagine, with authentication being handled by PSN, Sony are going to provide some kind of PC API, where you can see what people are currently playing, your PSN icon, Trophies etc.
As small start, but it will evolve as Home evolves.
Tranando @ Mar 15th 2008 6:05AM
Sony, if this is true, how about some mods for popular forum software (PHPBB, SMF, Wordpress and so on).
DEMAN @ Mar 15th 2008 8:17AM
I linked my PSN to this and theh SCEE forums even though I am in the states.
Ves @ Mar 15th 2008 11:54AM
It reminds me of the Bungie site and Mech Assault series on the Xbox.
lee @ Mar 15th 2008 11:44AM
has anyone thought this might have something to do with the KZ2 Beta???
hope it has!
MRBlue @ Mar 15th 2008 12:44PM
One can only hope that this means that trophies/entitlements are on the way and the account needs to be linked so it can keep track of your progress.
As mentioned in the article, it's good to see that Sony is making changes to PSN. Hopefully by the end of the year it will be everything we've been hoping for and more.
Raheem @ Mar 16th 2008 2:57PM
So... just like Bungie.net?
