Skype headset for PSP coming April, for $20

The PSP Headset Kit for Skype is coming in April for a very affordable price of $20. This kit makes much more sense than the current solution, which requires users to get two separate accessories. Hopefully, this release will not only encourage more PSP users to try Skype, but to try voice communication in their online-enabled games.

I wonder if they'll drop the price of the current headset. I have a phat, so I can't use Skype. I've been thinking about buying the current headset, but maybe I should wait until this new one.

About time, a good thing I held out on getting this. I am also glad it's cheaper as a bundle. 30.00 for the remote and the cheapie headphones are a down right rip off.

Nice! I'm not sure how much I'd use Skype on my PSP, but I like having a simple, inexpensive solution.

Has there been any word or murmurings about the GPS in the last few weeks? I'm still eagerly awaiting its release, and hope it hits by the beginning of summer.

The only thing I like about this is that it means they are FINALLY releasing a black remote for the PSP-2000. I bought those expensive Playstation Signature earbuds for my PSP2000, in black, but the remote portion of the set is in white. Now I can get the Skype headset and replace the lame white remote on my earbud set. Will finally match my black PSP!

Maybe I'm missing something, what's the difference between these and the pair I bought last year for $20 (except that these are black). It can't be just because of Skype.

I bought the same ones, but it didn't come with the remote. I wound up buying the remote (with earbuds) for cheap on ebay and the total cost for both purchases came to around $25 shipped for me.
I tried it and the quality is great.

I believe the NEW Skype headset won't need the REMOTE. It would plug directly to the PSP.
